Okay, so I recently started a game on Storm Silver and caught a Ledyba. thing is, it's Special Attack is higher than it's Attack, even though the Attack IV is higher. Can you make sure that the BS changes are there, or how can I check that?
Turns out I did indeed forget to put in Ledyba's (or at least save it). It should be fine once you evolve it, but yeah... I'll make a note.
I did deposit him in the PC and withdraw, and it didn't change...
I know I asked earlier if Strength could be obtainable earlier. I also would like to see the Amulet Coin handed out earlier too, as that is a very useful item early in the game - not so much later. Any chance of that, Dray?
Both have been moved for what will be released as V2. I actually did the Amulet Coin before I even saw this post! Strength is now obtained just before four badges, btw, so the same as before.
and why can't Stunky/Skuntank learn Pursuit or Crunch by level up? they have a dearth of Dark type moves until really late...those moves are egg moves too.
I ignore them too much. I'll see what I can do.
and one final observation: the first trade in the game is a Rhyhorn for Gligar, but Rhyhorn isn't available until after Union Cave. Maybe you should have a Pokemon from Dark Cave or something there instead of Rhyhorn - maybe Bronzor or Sandshrew?
Nah, that was totally intentional; I wanted something a fair distance away so the player would have to work to get a Gligar that early.
First off, this hack looks awesome...
Just wondering if the endgame training is as boring as it is in heart gold or if there are other training methods or anything.
Aftually this hack brought back my interest in heart gold but then i remembered how boring leveling up gets at higher levels (since heart gold doesnt have stuff like vs seeker or shaking grass) , so im wondering if it gets any better in sacred gold
Ive looked around other pages in the Post but i couldnt find anything about this, sorry if its mentioned on a page i didnt read!
I don't think I added anything that extra in training, really; there's a lot more extra fights and a sort of boss rush which can probably help you grind for experience. Nothing so easy as loads of Blissey though, sorry.
Doing the Kanto gyms first would be interesting, because the Kanto gyms aren't supposed to have stronger Pokémon than the Elite Four! But, on the other hand, I'm a purist... One of the reasons I enjoy this hack is because it's a beefed up HGSS and changing too much would kind of spoil the fun to me.
So, Dray, I know it's already pushing it with the Complete and Classic versions, but could you include gym leader differences and "Kanto first" features only in a different version? Or perhaps only in the Complete version? I don't know if it's easy nor possible to do it, though.
I'm afraid that would be too much; that means I'd essentially have eight versions (four for HG, four for SS) and that's way too much effort to maintain. I do understand the purist viewpoint, but think of it this way; it's not actually that different! It just means the E4 challenge is cut out and moved; the way I intend to do it means it'll basically be the same as before. Instead of Eight Badges -> E4 -> Eight Badges, it'll be Eight Badges -> Eight Badges -> E4. Plus, the E4 has a more epic feeling that late, imo.
I have acquired all the legendaries, and Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn starters caught. However, when I go to Cynthia with Infernape in front, my only two options are Sinjoh Ruins or battle - there's no third option to acquire the other two Sinnoh starters. In terms of general progress on the 492 quest, I have 360 in my Ndex (210 for Jdex) and 4/16 plates so far.
...Really? Urgh, I've got way too many flags on the same character there. Noted.
Dray, can you change the "trainer is about to send [x pkmn]" with a line that hides it's name? It would make the game a tad more difficult.
I'd kind of rather not do this just because the Set option is available. Plus it sounds like Clyde will hunt me down if I do change it. :x
Would it be possible to start a game with the current version, and later continue playing with a new version of the hack? Or would I need to start a new game with the new version?
For versions that have the same main number (eg 1.03, 1.04, 1.05), yes, but if I bump up the version number then it means there's probably a fair bit of changes that will throw things out of sequence if you continue with the same save. For example, V2 has a lot of TM locations swapped around.
Will there be a document with the Trainer listings later on, like you did with BlazeBlack/VoltWhite
Enjoying the hack a lot so far, just reached Goldenrod and gathered almost enough coins for Ice Beam, Thunderbolt and Flamethrower. Thank god you can buy coins cheap now. I'm also using the rematch Trainers cheat on some rich trainers.
There will be for the Gym Leaders, Elite Four and whatnot, not for generic trainers though. If you mean the generic trainer one, that was only there for BBVW because I was trying to make sure everything could be seen in the PokéDex, I think, but it's a bit annoying to do. Kind of. But yeah, important trainers yes, generic no.
You're probably going to hate what I've done then, haha. I'm trying to make the TMs kind of like BW so I shifted the elemental moves a lot later and the Game Corner no longer sells TMs. Limiting people to one given TM (albeit with 999 uses) means things have to be cut!
Goldenrod Mart will probably annoy you more, though. BW style high TM prices and that.
