Maybe they`ll do it like this: S4:E1=S1 / S4:E2=S2 / S4:E3=S3; so that Episode 3 would be kinda similar to Sonic 3. So in the end Sonic 4 could be in itself a modernized trilogy, like Sonic 1-3K were :P

sonic 4 episode 1 was a remake of 2, and from the looks of the screensahots (ice cap zone) this will have stages remixed from sonic 3.

erm yeah, sorry it's not a sonic 2 remake erm it must be something else, i don't think any of you even played sonic 2 when it first came out, you were all in your nappies, shows how much you lot know, anyways i'm done here.

I guess SEGA has taken after Valve in the "Comically Missing the Point of the Episodes Format" department.

As for the game itself... it looks nice, but I'm naturally skeptical towards anything Sonic related. I'll wait and see how this turns out.

Those screens do look nice though. Unfortunately, unless they pulled a miracle and made this play like Generations, I will have my Face Of Dissatisfaction on.

It's a speculation that was posted before Sonic 4 was out, the title is a question none of the things he is saying there are facts but purely speculation of the games screenshots.

Please, next time you want to try and insult me, grow the fuck up.

You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
