Even more action = even worser than RE5.
Not impressed, sadly
I just wish they'd go back to the roots... If I wanna play an FPS, I can just play some of the other 300 titles out there.
Sure... I was replaying Code Veronica X just 6 months or so ago, and trust me, it's an awesome game.Even more action = even worser than RE5.

Doesnt age well
No raulpica, just... no.
If a game like Resident Evil 1/2/3/CV was released today, having the today's market into consideration, it would be frowned upon by critics, hated by gamers and loved by the artsy douches.
The games are good when played in the context of their times, but take in mind that they were not action-packed that much because of technological limitations, not because they weren't supposed to. The puzzles are awesome, fair play, but I like Capcom's attempt at creating an actual scenario of zombies overrunning a city rather than putting 2 identical average joe's on a map and calling it "infestation".
And that exactly makes this title just a clone of Gears of War with reskinned Locusts.
And I should waste my money on something that I have already played?
Titles NEED to be different. I'm SICK of all those generic FPS.
Technical limitations? Nah. Back then they just had more creativity.
I dunno what the heck happened in those last years, but the MASSIVE flood of FPS should show enough how current gamers just care about shooting things mindlessly.
There's a lot of gameplay in it, actually. There's just no HUD, but you can clearly see the "game" parts in between the various CGI movies.IT IS NOT a gameplay video at all...
If you're going to tell me that each screen consisted of 10 zombies tops, all of which were just 3 recycled models not due to technical limitations but due to some other, creative reason then I will point at you and laugh. And that exactly makes this title just a clone of Gears of War with reskinned Locusts.

So, you're saying that it's realistic for a closed building to have OVER 100 people in a single room?If you're going to tell me that each screen consisted of 10 zombies tops, all of which were just 3 recycled models not due to technical limitations but due to some other, creative reason then I will point at you and laugh.
I can understand that the puzzles required a certain degree of creativity and I myself love and miss them, but the action part of RE 1/2/3/CV LACKED alot, felt out-of-place and awkward. The new games seemed to have fixed that, but they're a bit poor on the puzzle front.
I agree that there are too many FPS'es on the market, but hey! FPS'es sell. This is a buisness. Besides, let's not judge the game before we see proper gameplay.
In RE1? Fine, except for the Umbrella base which had hundreds of employees. In RE2 and 3, where you visited an overrun city and the cinematic showed you that the ammount of zombies was huge? No. Similarily in Code Veronica, which was set on a prison island of considerable size. So, you're saying that it's realistic for a closed building to have OVER 100 people in a single room?If you're going to tell me that each screen consisted of 10 zombies tops, all of which were just 3 recycled models not due to technical limitations but due to some other, creative reason then I will point at you and laugh.

Heck, they were simple rooms. With max 4-5 people working in them. It was NORMAL for it to have that much enemies in there. Yeah, you could've put something like 50 zombies in there if the console was more powerful, but that would've ruined the entire feel.
Agreed on the bullets issue, that should be more limited. Survival Horror implies that you're supposed to survive something. I'd very much like the difficulty curve to be set by a large ammount of brainless zombies rather than crude controls and bad camera.RE was more than an action game. It was a SURVIVAL HORROR. You didn't have to shoot a lot, you had to save on bullets and stuff like that.
In the new games (well... RE5 mostly) you have LOTS of bullets and weapons, like every single FPS out there.
Immensly worse sales than normal games.Indie games also sell, and they offer something different, for a change... I'll wait for the final game, but I'm sure that I'll be somehow disappointed by it.
