Because every game that has cover fire is a Gears of War clone because Gears of War definitely invented the third person shooter and a cover system.
You know what, I dig it. The series has drifted towards being more action oriented anyway but they've been too stuck in Resident Evil 4 mechanics (which, while an action game, certainly wasn't balls-to-the-wall like Resident Evil 5 was) to make it a real action game. Resident Evil 5 suffered from this.
I will complain about the cover system though since it's typically useless in a zombie game. Why would you need cover if all your enemies are just going to attack you in close quarters? You may as well stand up and shoot at them. I'm assuming they'll have some ranged enemies in the game but for zombies it's rather useless.
As long as it has Leon Kennedy wisecracking then I'll bite. Series evolve in accordance with the times. Look at Metal Gear Solid (NOT Metal Gear). It started off on the Playstation just like Resident Evil. The game has evolved a lot from the first Metal Gear Solid to MGS4, or Peace Walker if you want to count that as MGS5. Plus I always felt that it was kinda silly that for a bunch of elite trained special ops guys like Chris and Leon that they're about as mobile as a slug with lead boots.

Wait, what? RE5 was TOTALLY inferior to RE4 in every single way possible. Except graphics.'cause RE5 was just RE4 with new graphics![]()

Right, because Resident Evil 4 actually stuck to the series plot in more ways than just an overview, your partner wasn't completely useless, there were multiple control options including the original third-person style, multiplayer, and online play... Oh wait, I just described Resident Evil 5 [/my opinions].Wait, what? RE5 was TOTALLY inferior to RE4 in every single way possible. Except graphics.'cause RE5 was just RE4 with new graphics![]()
Hey, inferior came out of your mouth, dude.Wait, what? RE5 was TOTALLY inferior to RE4 in every single way possible. Except graphics.'cause RE5 was just RE4 with new graphics![]()

With that I meant that calling RE5 "RE4 with new graphics" is absolutely reductive (obviously in terms of RE4).Hey, inferior came out of your mouth, dude.Wait, what? RE5 was TOTALLY inferior to RE4 in every single way possible. Except graphics.'cause RE5 was just RE4 with new graphics![]()
Are we talking about the same RE5 where Sheva was one of the most annoying AI-controlled characters ever, which got in your way in every way she could, stealing your ammos, wasting medkits and such?Right, because Resident Evil 4 actually stuck to the series plot in more ways than just an overview, your partner wasn't completely useless, there were multiple control options including the original third-person style, multiplayer, and online play... Oh yeah, because Ashley didn't get killed, grabbed, or constantly shout, "where you going, Leon?". At least Sheva could serve as a mule...With that I meant that calling RE5 "RE4 with new graphics" is absolutely reductive (obviously in terms of RE4).Hey, inferior came out of your mouth, dude.Wait, what? What are you talking about this game looks nothing like God of War.

Lolokay.

Except Ashely was only in a few missions/levels while Sheva was there THE ENTIRE GAME. The game was basically a complete shithole if you played solo. Best you could do was give Sheva an overpowered Magnum and let her aimbot.
Oh, and nothing's all that "scary" in Resident Evil 5 once you dress Sheva in a slightly racist and skimpy tribal outfit and give Chris a zebra-pattern suit, then suit up with miniguns and infinite RPGs. At least RE4 had suspense. While it was action based it still made you feel helpless at times and gave you fight or flight. I wasn't particularly scared by it but zombies (or whatever zombie shoe-ins they have) don't really give me the creeps.
Resident Evil 4 by far was a superior game.

I think he means gears of war. Because you know, Gears of War invented 3rd person shooters.

Well I was joking. But Gears of War invented everything from third person shooters to gears and war.

Of course, you realize in 4, you drerss up ashley in a skimpy white suit (or a suit of armor) and Leon in a police outfit (or mafia get-up) and can get the infinite Tommy gun and Infinite launcher just as early as in 5. As far as helplessness, no. The only Resident Evil where I felt helpless (no ammo, no health items, low health, and danger in every direction) was 0. 4 and 5 were both terrible at making it seem like a survival game, because you could just shoot one guy in the face, kick the entire hoard down, and knife them to death.scratch that the game looks like most moderm generic crap outhere game outhere not just GOW
