Ok I got a question here. My little brother has a PSP Go with 6.20 PRO-B9 Permanent Patch. How do I exactly update it to 6.20 PRO-B10? I'm just afraid it'll brick if I install 6.20 PRO-B10 on B9.
I need to know this too D:

I want to make sure I don't have a brick for my doorstep.

Download the pro update, put it in psp/game/, then run it. Press x, and it will restart itself.
Boom!

Always uninstall permanent patch first, then update from the OFW. If you're concerned, you can also uninstall your current PRO-B and then install the new one.

Is all that really needed? I mean, chances of bricking by simply updating B9 to B10 are extremely low.

Uninstalling would cause unnecessary flashing, it would be more safe just to update from B9.

WAITWAITWAIT.

What do I uninstall? The permanent patch? I'm going to uninstall that, as it seems the safest way to do it, but then I'm not going to uninstall PRO-B9 itself because that is unnecessary, and I'll run the PRO-B10 updater to update to B10... Then I'll use the B10 Perm patch to install it completely.

I'm pretty sure you can just install B9 over B10, but the perma patch would probably cause some problems (the perma patch is structured differently for each firmware (?), and when booted into B10 with a B9 perma patch, it'll probably be problematic), so it's recommended to uninstall the perma patch before updating.

EDIT: unless B10 uninstalls or ignores the B9 perma patch components, that is.

Pretty sure the perma patch is the same.
All the B10 patch is doing is replacing the needed files.

Ah, alright. I asked the same question about uninstalling perma patch prior to updating, and somebody (Rydian or Xist, iirc?) said it's recommended to uninstall.

Ok now I tried both methods (Uninstalling Permanent Patch and the previous PRO and installing PRO-B10 over PRO-B9 with the Permanent Patch installed)and they both worked perfectly so either methods are fine. As for another problem I'm having is this "Resume Game" icon showing up even though I didn't "Pause Game" at all.

I think testwater2 means is it normal for the "exh" to be at the end of his firmware version (er, whatever.)

Should it be "6.60 ME- 1.4", or is "6.60 ME- 1.4exh" what it normally says.

yes,U got what i mean.

i got one PSP2K that shows 6.60 ME- 1.4 , another PSP2K showing 6.60 ME- 1.4exh .

So what is the best 6.zz cfw to be on? Currently in 5.00 m33, not too fussed about poploader. 1st gen psp slim.

Well, 6.20 PRO can have permanent patch, but that's only really a benefit for unhackable mobos. With hackable mobo like yours you can use the custom IPL installer I believe, getting any of the 6.XX PRO CFWs permanent. I believe if you want to access PSN, it's easiest on 6.60 PRO, and you lose no features by going for 6.60 (all the PRO CFWs are the same) - you also gain no official features, other than PSN access, as Sony didn't bother adding anything.

Then there's ME - not sure what the latest is, but I think it's 6.60 ME-something. ME has less features, but might have all you need.
