I have a ps vita that I’ve had for years but It doesn’t work because of water damage, I wanted to know if were to get a new mother board will it fix the vita

Are you sure its just the motherboard? If so they are easy to find on ebay.
But there might be damage to other component, and the controller pads on both side are also on separate PCBs.
I don't think you will be able to fix unfortunately, best case you have a donor Vita.

You can get donor parts on eBay for a couple dozen bucks. Get a testing homebrew to make sure the controller Isn't damaged.

Do keep in mind the internal storage will be gone since the NAND is soldered to the motherboard. Which also means your old memory card may be rejected, or it will just require a PSN sign in, not sure.

Fortunately, the less expensive parts of the Vita are very modular and easy to replace. Some of the replacement analog sticks out there are not great quality though.

Hey, I'd appreciate an opinion on this because I'm OCD about console condition. I got a pretty much mint PS Vita and used the bathroom steam trick to put the screen protector on without thinking that the console has vents. System seems fine, but I don't know how it's supposed to run since I've never had a Vita before. Do you think 5-7 minutes in a steamy bathroom is a cause for concern? Thanks!

It'll be fine. Unless it's like a regular thing, then the humidity might get to it a little, but I doubt there would be any lasting impact.

Worth noting that I live in Missouri which has a mild tropical climate, your results will differ based on climate and quality of home A/C

Thanks for this! I live in Florida fyi so it's already pretty humid. I just retroactively had a mini mental breakdown lol about bringing it into a room full of steam. Just wasn't thinking and it feels delicate so idk. I was just wondering 🙏

I have played my vita in my tub multiple times. I always have super hot water so in pretty sure the Vita can handle some steam
