Hello
I have a slim ps4 with a belize southbridge that could not run linux. What i have tried is
-Tried both from external sata to usb and internally
-For the distro i used the cachyos final fantasy v2.tar filerenamed to psxitarch.tar.xz
-Internally,i place the three files (initramsfs/kernel/distro) in the correct directories
-Used the 5.15 kenrel since it is mentioned as reliable
-Also all about intrmsfs is correct
-Latest goldhen

When i load the linux payload 1GB Ram it loads successfully but after that i have black screen, the ps4 freezes (i cannot shut it down only force it for that)
The led remains white and once blinks blue and orange but after that it goes white again and as i told the console freezes).I dont get the message welcome to Cachy OS.
I am out of ideas what to do next,i would appreciate any help

update:after trying another kernel i get constant purple light on ps4 but black screen.Cant get in terminal with every keyboard combination

- Try a different distro.

https://ps4linux.com/downloads/#Fedora_based_PS4_Linux_Distros

Start with getting Fedora 32 by Modded Warfare to work.

- Give 6.15.4 By Random-Kafk (Blackscreen, WiFi/BT fix for CUH-12XX Torus 2.0) a try.

Different kernel sounds like a step forward.

I gave it a try last night for fun to install a newer version of Fedora 40 and it worked really well.

- Try a different USB stick.

Some just don't work.

- When you install Linux have minimal things in your USB ports.

Aim for only the USB stick in the hub on the right port and a keyboard in the left port.

- If you get a black screen, unplug and plug it back in again to restart.

If you have a smart plug, use that to unplug and plug your PS4 in to work. Don't just go straight back into Orbis and try again. It needs a full reset.

- Make sure your PS4 video settings are correct.

- If you have webkit, you don't need to be running Goldhen to run the Linux payload.

Aside from that, keep trying different combinations of files. It's really finicky.

Thanks.I will go with fedora 32 by itmania as that from MD has its link down. Will try it the next days and will report back
By the way.Is there any way to get away from the black screen and return back to OS,in case loading the distro fails, without hard restarting the console?

No but hard resetting is necessary sometimes. Fedora 32 is a good start because it's not resource heavy and pretty well documented by Modded_Warfare.
