Hey yall smarter than me! Quick question (hopefully.)

Not my first rodeo installing one of these hwfly chips, everything was going fine but heres the synopsis now.

SP2 sparks, smokes, then gets red hot. The console still boots to hekate, everything works, but obviously this is not ideal. Is this a matter of my soldering? In the photo I was wicking SP1 so thats why that looks so jank, but my SP2 I think looks fine? I just don't want to pose a switch killing risk or worse a fire risk. Any suggestions on what I could do to fix this?

--SOLVED--
Some solder leaked below the pad, then was shorting the connection. solved via continuity test

Last edited by MochaMods,
Do you know the reason why Sometime the mod works with 47 and sometimes with 100 ohm??
For now, in all my mods I didn't had to use 10 Ohm 🤞🏽 but still curious about the error 🤔

It (almost) always works with 100 ohm. 47 ohm is often too little. The reason for the differences is that there are slight variations in the manufacturing process of chips. some rp2040's emit more electrical noise than others, and some emmc's are more sensitive to electrical noise than others.

value of this resistor V2, please ^_^

Hello , is there any way to flash rp2040 tiny without the attachment board?
Thx in advamce
WIRING accordingly, short R3 to ground or R9 to ground simulating pressing REST(R3) or BOOST(R9) button

hello jhykyo. sorry for bothering you again. do you know which component affect 3.3 vol line? i have bought 2 boards today. 1 showed 2k2 voltage which i have never seen before and the 2nd one showed 1.5ohm .i have removed m92t and p13usb even the 3.3v regulator but it didn't change at all.

I tried to kamikaze my oled
And i mess up
Now my oled cannot turn on
Do i need make a jumper wire form that point

Yep try to attach it with a jumper. Good thing you didn't break the via. Before bridging, just make sure to isolate the ground with solder mask
But when i measure that 2 point
It have a value
I think it should one of the point is OL because i break the connection

there are even cpu takes 3.3v in it so pretty hard to tell what makes your 3.3v line wrong.

The one that showed 1.5ohm i think i will list it in donor board list. But the 2k2vol it boots and works normally now except it can not connect to pc. I have changed the port and still the same issue. I think the high voltage on 3.3v line is causing this but i took m92t and p13usb even bq chip for chances but in vain nothing change , still 2k2-2k4 vol.

check you d+ &d- diode value if you dont have connection to PC
