Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, the upcoming narrative-driven action RPG from DON’T NOD, is set to launch in a few month's time. In anticipation if its availability, a new trailer for the game was aired that provides an overview of the gameplay elements:

You play as a pair of Banishers, Antea Duarte and Red Mac Raith, experienced spirit hunters sent to New Eden to lift a mysterious curse and solve haunting cases. But after an ill-advised attack, Antea is killed and becomes one of the ghosts she loathes. Torn between their vows to protect the living from malicious spirits and the nightmare of Antea’s condition, you must decide: will you honor your oath, or sacrifice the living in a desperate bid to bring your beloved back?

Enter the lives of New Eden’s communities in a world plagued with supernatural creatures and ancient secrets. Combine Antea’s spiritual abilities and Red’s powerful arsenal to banish the souls that torment the living. Uncover secrets, navigate mysterious landscapes, upgrade your gear, and meet memorable characters whose outcomes rest in your hands.

Heavy choices lie on your path as you decide the fate of New Eden’s inhabitants—be they living people or wandering souls—dramatically impacting your story and the challenges you’ll face.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden releases November 7 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Its crazy how much unreal's free assets and asset store get used by indies, medium shops, and even big ass shops like square enix and namco bandai.

I guess unreal is going to become the new unity for shovelware.

How gaming has fallen... All these games look the same, like some presentation demo's of effects, like it's a pitch to sell the engine or something, overwhelming same effects across the board, and hours of fake drama, endless talking, like the game has a soul. Dry, dead as Hollywood last 15 years. Western and Asian games are literally competing who can make a soapier plot.... Sadness.

Does it have profanity? Abundant scantily clad women? Abusive relationships, based on patriarchal ideals? Problem solving by way of violence? Life saving ordeals to get an elusive item in some profound depths, filled with danger?

Based on the overview of this game, what I was able to take away from the YouTube video is that this is your unconventional love story that consists of a supernatural fighting couple which reminded me of the Lewis and Clark Expedition (if you know your American History) as they travel afar across America, using magic, sorcery, etc. to relinquish bad spirits. Wish Focus Entertainment had shown this video a while back when they were promoting the game early on since it was difficult to understand the plot of this game based on the mediocre trailers that have been shown until this point.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
