Gran Turismo now stays on a black screen shortly after starting, previously this did not happen. :(
It happens to me in the US version.
Hrm.
What is the last build, commit or version last worked that game?
I suspect it's because Lightrec can't currently emulate Gran Turismo, as well with some games.

¿Cuál es la última compilación, confirmación o última versión que funcionó en ese juego?
Sospecho que es porque Lightrec actualmente no puede emular Gran Turismo, así como con algunos juegos.
The same thing happened in both, but with Gran Turismo 2 Simulation Mode USA version, it works for me, but my problem is with Gran Turismo 1, it stays on a black screen a few seconds after starting, WiiSX Beta 3.0 does work.

Just a post to say a big thank you to xjsxjs197 and Niuss (and Emukidd, and all the folks who coded the new Lightrec library), because it is a last possible to perfectly emulate on a Wii these two games listed below, thanks to WiiStation (and probably WiiSXRX 4.0, but I didn't test it yet):

Wii very first model (2006), Frameskip OFF, USB Stick 4Go, WiiStation 2.0:

- Magical Tetris Challenge (JAP, 60Hz) and (PAL, 50Hz only, but better balanced).
Runs perfectly fine (only very minor crackles in sound, on the main menu only).
This gem was previously only playable on the old Wii 64 Rice, but with many many graphical glitches. Wasn't working on Mame-2003 Wii (obviously) and broken on Not 64.

- Bust-a-Move 2: Arcade Edition (NTSC, CDDA version)
Runs perfectly.
Minor random audio bug (10% of the time) when winning a game in Vs Computer mode. The "win" jingle starts but the background music keeps playing in a loop (like a scratched vinyle). Back to the map, the background music plays fine again. Maybe due to the USB stick and the music track access/reading.
This another gem was only playable in Retroarch-Wii, but only the Neo-Geo version, which sadly does not have the Select Character code (so, one is stuck with playing Bub only). N64 version broken in Not 64, and heavy graphical glitches and slowdowns in Wii 64 Rice.

After all those years, I can finally play these games on my Wii (goodbye PC emulators! :) )

Also tested more demanding games, they run very fine so far, but I wait to play more before posting feedback.

NOW, I dare ask some requests: :P

1) Would it possible to add a setting to disable the Bilinear Filtering?
It's a pity to have PS1 games running so fine, but blurry. I don't know if it's hard to implement, or if it would impact the performance (I think not, as all emulators on Wii has it). So, it's just an humble request.

2) Games are rendered at their "framebuffer" size. Though it is not a problem when games are set to "Force 16:9" as it prevents an extra stretch, when set to 4:3, the image is too "narrow" on the X axis (vertically, circles are ovals for example). Though this can be fixed if the TV has a "Fit Screen" display setting (the game is then stretched to the whole 4:3 viewport, and the image has therefore the correct width size).
Once again, I don't know if it possible to add a "Custom Width" setting (Framebuffer ON/OFF or set a pixel value), like in ULGX or Nintendont for example.

Thank you again for this great work!

This version, from November 9 of last year, here is the Gran Turismo and there are no problems with the PAL Bios.
Maybe with the new commit (auto BIOS file select) will fix that issue. I will compile it later.

Both games are running ever since the classic WiiSXRX 2.x versions. Coincidentally, I do play those a lot, particularly because they can't be played properly, as you already mentioned, with the N64 emulators.

Latest build of WiiStation as of May 1, 2023

WiiStation - main branch until git 2bcdbb7
https://github.com/xjsxjs197/WiiSXRX_2022/commit/2bcdbb7e286b09cc6374adcee8582cd360851239

Latest change on main branch is fixing the following issue https://github.com/xjsxjs197/WiiSXRX_2022/issues/85 related to PAL BIOS, by adding now a BIOS file detection, for use a specific BIOS file depending of the game/region. (reported by @Zorg07)

Please test this build, thanks ;)
Thanks Saul, although I still have the same problem with the Dino Crisis PAL game, although it still sounds weird, and Gran Turismo continues with a black screen after a few seconds, so I would stay with version 1.0

Latest build of WiiStation as of May 11, 2023

WiiStation - main branch until git 844b980

Update with the Gran Turismo games issues, now they're fixed:

Please test this build, thanks ;)

On WiiSX 3.0 with the new lightrec and the PSX on PSP Bios, a huge majority of games that used to crash or run slowly now run flawlessly, here's a short list of games that run perfectly now with no frameskip and no graphical issues

Street Fighter EX2 Plus
Fatal Fury Wild Ambition
Starfighter Sanvein
NBA Hangtime
NBA Showtime
NBA Hoopz
NFL Blitz 2000
Mortal Kombat 4
Quake 2
Midnight Run
Radikal Bikers
Golden Tee Golf
Psychic Force

This is a really great update, so many more arcade games run now on Wii, including a lot of 3D fighters that didn't before! I also tried it with the heaviest games like Tekken 3 which averages 50fps(!!!) and Bloody Roar 2 which averages about 35 to 50fps, it's truly incredible progress, hats off to everyone who made it possible!

I've been MIA from the Wii emulation scene for quite a while, so forgive me if I'm not all completely up to date. Decided to check up on Wii Mundo Hack for a random reason this week and saw they had an article/download about WiiStation 2.0. I downloaded it and tried it out because it had been a while since I playtested this emulator.

I had stopped updating WiiStation at the 9/3/22 build because every update after that didn't run Primal Rage properly. Builds after that would have no CD audio, or the graphics would crap out, or both. 2.0 runs Primal Rage fine but doesn't seem to have CD audio. So I have to keep that 9/3/22 build for now.

I did notice that 2.0 is finally running Diablo fine, which was the only reason I was keeping NiuuS's WiiSXRX 2.7 around. Every WiiSX update seemed to screw up the background music audio skipping it randomly around, and sometimes the frame rate was having trouble. 2.0 seems to have finally fixed that. Think I'm hanging up 2.7 now. It is interesting in a historical context, because PSX emulation on Wii used to be pretty awful, but I'd usually say the *ONE* reason to install it was that it would run Diablo decently.

So where are we exactly now with the latest WiiStation update, and more to the point, does it run Primal Rage better than that old 9/3/22 build?

Personally I think the PSX port of Primal Rage is the best port of the Arcade version you're going to play on Wii. The GameCube Midway collection has some really muddy looking graphics in comparison and also for some ungodly reason decided to completely change all the special move inputs.

Thank you to everyone that's keeping this scene going. :) xjsxjs197, NiuuS, and everyone.

WiiSX 3.0 runs these games both fine as well, no frame rate issues in diablo when dithering is disabled. Ran into an issue on rival schools where the game is running full speed but in slow motion, unfortunate!

i am also playing with a gamecube compatible original wii on same system menu version (4.3) and each wiistation build is working flawless for me. The latest build attached above runs my psx games fine with background music.

There must be something wrong with your configuration. How come you get 0 fps?

Do you have the correct bios files? Try loading another clean .iso backup of the same game.

You should enable "start with bios" option from the settings.
