I'm wanting to start up a new project but I can't think of what I should start, any ideas? I'm trying to make something that hasn't been done/contributes to the community in some way
Why don't you try downporting the snes virtual console emulator to old 3ds's? I have an n3ds but the option to conserve battery would be nice by downcloocking the cpu. The old 3ds surely is more powerful than a pc from the 90's..
I always want easier cheats... Checkpoint is cool and all but I liked the way things worked on the DS, just download one file with cheats for everything. Not sure what the technical reasons for it not being that way now but it's on my wish list lol

I think it was the way .plg cheat files had the codes sorted but not been able to be viewed raw. The .3gx was nice with the text files. But a little bit late with most .plg authors no longer having the raw codes made for them collected in one main group.
I would say "something that could control a Sphero" but the 3DS has no bluetooth.. Maybe you could do something interesting with the cameras or the system's 3D capabilities. Maybe local wireless video chatting!

Don't you think it would be helpful to start by giving some idea of what you're capable of..?
I think it would be very useful to finally update the old spolit-installers. It's true that they have limited utility these days, especially with super-skaterhax, but it seems like a relatively simple thing that no one's gotten around to. I'm specifically thinking of new QR codes for the 11.10E payloads for ninjhax, and an offline installer for stickerhax, similar to the offline installer for oot3dhax. And on that note a set of updated powersaves for oot3dhax would likely have some utility as well.
Speaking of skater, someone ought to find a way to get around the inability of the N3DS to navigate captive portals like you find at public wifi hotspots. That is one of the primary advantages the o3DS still has over the N3DS.
Something I wanted to try porting at one point but never got around to is open fodder which is for the MSDOS/Amiga games Cannon Fodder 1 & 2. https://github.com/OpenFodder/openfodder
I don't think I would get to it any time soon so if you are interested that would be cool. =)

Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
