Scene dev Zecoxao teases new $3 modchip for the OLED Nintendo Switch, involves a Raspberry Pi

asddasdsa.png

Scene developer Zecoxao might be known for their contributions to the PlayStation hacking world, but this time around, they've got something major for the Nintendo scene. The longtime scener teased the existence of what they claim to be a $3 modchip for the Nintendo Switch, and which is said to work with Mariko and OLED systems, though not patched Erista consoles. A teaser video was also uploaded, where the modchip itself was revealed to be a Raspberry Pi--specifically, a RP2040 Zero unit, soldered into the Switch board, demonstrating Hekate launching on an OLED unit.

Given the tease of "coming soon", we can expect to see more details about the exploit eventually.

I guess we all will. Not for piracy but for the fun of it, one of my 2 Mariko could be used for it. Hope it's true.
I do. At the moment that it is shown that if it is possible, then he will go buy a mariko and an rp2040, for the moment I remain the same pending, although almost 1 week has passed and nothing more than the video

I'm on the fence about waiting for any possible news here or paying 250 CAD for a local hwfly installer for my OLED...hmm...
If you can buy the hwfly, the rp will still be in beta when it comes out, and it wouldn't be anyone's responsibility to give it support, rather than wait for the community itself to find solutions to the errors that can be reported

If it even comes out. Again the original dev is now very on the fence about releasing it.

News, no one has contacted the author of the video to get the firmware for rp2040
Video author is different from original dev if I'm correct.

At some point, he's going to have to open that box..
God that box is a whole other thing

Exactly, I'm honestly not too sure if it's worth waiting for something that might not exist thanks to the nature of the scene being well...i don't have any words to describe it when i can pay a relatively low price (for what it is) and enjoy it before someone else ends up snagging it

That's right, if you can put the hwfly on it, then do it, now if you don't have the resources then wait for the developer for at least 2 more weeks

In deleted post several posts earlier, there was a proposal to completely throw out the game cartridge module.
And to place the rp2040 module there.
The logic is clear, a real filibuster does not need cartridges.
The only bad thing is that on the same module, as I remember, there is also a headphone output. At least in case of "heavy" Switch. I don't know how it is with Switch Light.
but the cartdrige module have some type of connector of the screen so you can not free of it so easy.

Noup, the only thing it has is a flexor for the communication of the reader and the 3.5 jack, so the most feasible thing would be to unsolder the reader and place the 2040 there.

I did think what the screen or the digitizer connect to cart module. But could be wrong
That is the erista version, but it has already been said that the module does not work, in the lite it does not have the connector that you mention and in the Oled neither, I want to think but what I do see is that it is more delicate to manipulate the area where it is the cartridge reader but in the Oled we have enough space, the problem is the lite, but there we can remove the reader, not easy but it is possible, if you look at it carefully you can, but it will be a more laborious and ultra delicate process because just below the soldering of the reader is the screen connector, and since it is made of plastic, you have to be very careful, but if you can
