The fact is, if the mods don't want to answer a question, they shouldn't have to. It is their board and they don't owe anyone an explanation for anything that they do. If you don't like this forum, as was said earlier, you can leave. There are many other forums you could probably go to.

Zeppo asked a question. He wasn't being a smartass. If posters can't even ask Moderators legitimate questions without being abused, what's the purpose of a Moderator?

During all this hype he's gotten to the brink of banning and cussing.Lagging and numerous pointless Zelda threads...sick threads with porn. He gave others chances but then finally got pissed off to the point he has to be an asshole.

I call bullshit. No one HAS to be an asshole. It could be done in a quiet/silent manner. No reply is necessary.

like i have said all the long time mods here have a huge passion for this place and dont want to see it dragged down to the level of lets say the gamefaqs msg boards where 90% of all posts are just pure crap these days

whatever i say isnt going to change what has happened tonight
i was the only mod on the board when all the lameness was happening and i was also trying to keep peace in the irc channels too
you may not like the way i do things and sometimes i can be hot headed but i do get the job done (in my own special way)

Those rules include the prohibition of posting ROM links, so if you can't abide by the rules, get the fuck away.

Thats perfectly understandable. But there is a way to go about keeping order without creating problems.

Moderators are meant to stay in the background, and moderate the threads. If they see posts that are unacceptable, they take action. By action, I mean remove the problem and cause quickly and quietly

This is true, but I guess people sign up here thinking they're just gonna come on and want to challenge the rules. Fact is, rules are rules.

i could sit here and list a good 50 sites that i know of that have been taken down because of hosting or linking to illegal roms and i expect a lot of other people could too but it would be pointless as some of them have come bk up under new names or with new hosts and then i would be breaking one of our rules lol
the fact is if you have been using the internet for long enough and been in the rom "scene" you would know nintendo do not take likely to people hosting and linking to roms

There was a quite recent shutdown by nintendo. It was an online NES emulation site played through Java. Can't remember the name.

Also I've seen tons of other shorted lived ROM sites shut down by either Nintendo or some legal company acting on behalf of Nintendo or whatever system was being pirated.

There are quite a lot of sites and forums that have been removed, I had one called "Batteries Not Required" and I had to close it as someone working for representatives for Nintendo and SNK (I hosted NGPC ones too) basically reported me to the folks hosting my site. My site always got deleted and I had to keep finding new hosts until I gave up.

I also had a little discussion forum, not one rom was on there until someone who I previously banned for basically being a twat posted a crap load of rom links in my links section and reported me to the hosts.

This is why this forum is very strict on people who post rom links.
