Hacking YSmenu into Wood R4 - Dual Booting R4i Gold Pro

Greetings, wondering if there's any way for me to use Wood as a secondary boot (or even primary kernel) using the R4 Gold Pro 2017 (from here), I managed to get YSmenu working as a primary kernel as to avoid any time bomb issues, but as expected I'm running into trouble with some games, namely Okamiden which seems to crash and freeze on white or black screens, more commonly while switching in and out of battle.

just rename _ds_menu.DAT from the wood package into wood.nds, and just start wood.nds like you would start a game

Wood doesn't work properly with cards from r4isdhc.com.
