Nintendo of America has announced that the superb Xenoblade Chronicles is coming to North America on April 6th. The game launched to critical acclaim when it was released earlier last year in Europe, and is most certainly a game you should consider picking up. Xenoblade Chronicles will be available to purchase through Gamestop and Nintendo.

Finally, a good game coming over to us! :D

Edit: Oh but the release date is new information.
Edit2: mynintendonews :/

Yeah I read that it was a known release for the US after I posted it, but I knew the date was new :)

i just Reserved it, when i got my copy of FFXIII-2

the Thread Title can use a edit
to something like
Xenoblade Chronicles coming to US,on April 6th, 2012

You can't edit the title, you need to contact a moderator or report your own post to explain what title you want.

I edited it to say "US release date".

Ahh ok thanks :) I never really made topics on here, so I decided to do my first one and share this :)

truly the best game i ever played. i never thought i'd like these kind of games, but xenoblade chronicles totally got me.

Played an hour into the EU one and I got really boring. Saw nothing compelling enough to keep me playing.

I've certainly played better JRPGs this gen.

...But in the generally RPG starved Wii it's about as good as water in a desert.

At what point are you talking about? I hope you didn't mean it's whole life time.

You must be absolutely retarded to think the Wii RPG library is "adequate". It has a few titles but compared to literally EVERY OTHER console this generation, it's severely disproportionate. Not to mention the number of localized RPGs is even a shit ton less.

Maybe I really haven't given Xenoblade as much time as I should but I couldn't find it very compelling after an hour. Perhaps I'm an "instant gratification" type of gamer but generally if a game is unable to hook me within the first hour I rarely continue with it.

EDIT: ...But I won't put blame on Nintendo, they don't develop RPGs outside of a few Mario ones and it's not their fault. Although they did push out that cringe worthy Super Paper Mario.

The Wii's certainly lacking compared to the PS3, but as far as I can think the amount's just about on par with or a bit larger than the 360's JRPG collection, at least as far as English releases are concerned, but I suppose that depends on just how broad your definition of JRPG is.

Ah, whoops. I misread what you were saying, though you were just talking JRPGs. Yeah, the Wii's just screwed over completely as far as the RPG as a whole goes.

To be fair, he specified JRPG so your list is more like...
  • Lost Odyssey
  • Eternal Sonata
  • Nier
  • Final Fantasy XIII
  • Final Fantasy XIII-2
  • So much other shit I can't even think of.
I'm sure there's a bunch of others. I can at least add Tales of Vesperia to the 360's library, but I'm sure there's more.

Sorry, I missed the "JRPG" part. Would Dark Souls go on the list? There's probably also others but JRPGs aren't exactly my specialty.

Blue Dragon
Enchanted Arms
Resonance of Fate
Star Ocean The Last Hope
Tales of Vesperia
Infinte Undiscovery
The Last Remnant
Phantasy Star Universe
Magna Carta 2 (well, it's Korean, but the genre is pretty much the same)

And those are only some of them, there's prolly more. =3

They're not many, but from what I know, the Wii is the console with the least J-rpgs.
