ROM Hack Xenoblade Chronicles 2 bdat editor how to edit model with separate motion string from model string?

I’m trying to make a mod for xenoblade 2 to swap one of the models, but I figured out that the character uses a different motion string than the model string, which wouldn’t be a problem if the bdat editor wasn’t being stupid and forcing the model and motion string to be identical to the Comeff string, so is there any way around this?
