Hacking Xecuter SX FAQ - Finally!

  • Q: How will SX OS work?
    A:
The SX OS boot file and licenses can soon be retrieved from our easy to use website that will launch shortly. Simply follow instructions and you will be set up in a few minutes.
I know this but I don't know how are they going to validate the user because many preorder from different sites. How are these delivered for sx-os only? They have not mentioned email validation anywhere. Just that you can retrieve licenses. How will this work without their drm'd dongle?

Most likely the seller will send you a license number for you to enter in the tx site

Is there anything known if we will be able to load homebrew payloads (aka Hekate, Atmosphere) with Team X's USB-Dongle?
They did answer that in the FAQ.
  • Q: Can SX products run homebrew software as well?
    A:
The initial release of SX OS will not have support yet for running homebrew software for all firmware versions. Currently only the standard method for installing homebrew is supported, which means limited to the specific firmware version 3.0.0.
We are in the final stages on adding support for running homebrew software regardless of firmware version and we expect to have this included with one of the first SX OS updates.
Basically not now, but I guess eventually you will be able to load Atmosphere using their modchip

Why, Oh why, Do i suspect there will be a license model change, in the not too distant future for TX XS OS and its lil buddy chip.

That's not what Team X says in that FAQ. They say that they will update their payload to be able to run homebrew. My question is if we will be able to load totally different payloads on their dongle like Atmosphere.

To do that without their future implementation involves opening up the dongle and replacing whatever payload.bin they are using to load into their CFW. And I'm sure they are aware people are going to be messing with their dongle so it probably has some type of protection on it as well as the CFW they are using.

No one knows if you can write payloads to their dongle
I don't think it will support other payloads other than their own

Thanks for the faq Gary
I am so glad I purchased my tx os and dongle

Alot of questions cleared up on FAQ if you check it out on our site, things like homebrew support on latest firmware at launch (june 15th still), and fat32 (split file xci support) added, and no drm on dongle, only on SX OS, so that means if you own 3 or so switch'es in your household, just grab an SX PRO and 2 extra licenses, but remember you still need the dongle when battery dies or for reinstalls. -- also custom payload launching is coming (its there already), details will be released soon before launch, so just throw the payload on microsd, pick options and launch it, if you for some reason hate SX OS, and all together only 16mb is used up on the microsd, and there is note about wanting emunand for those 'advanced users' it is planned in near future in another update most likely soon after launch.

I really don't think it's necessary. Wasn't the WiiU so it didn't update past an exploitable FW?

They won't, both may have emuNAND support in the future.
and spoof with the emunand like the wii u? so we have to wait untill that or get the TX pro sx to play on the latest fw (and update the console?)

well when both get release to end user it is necessary just to play backups because if you are on a lower fw to get first and don't have to use a jig you can't play backups that needs a higher fw, i'm on 2.1 so i can play just a few of the games right now, or i have to get the sx pro to update and have cfw, but i'm waiting anyway and if we can spoof on the future i can buy a few games that i want to play.

I see a lot of questions and doubt, and bullshot trolling. But not enough celebration around having a backup loader in under a months time! Come on pirates!

No, if you have an emuNAND the point would be to update it. Otherwise you wouldn't bother having one.
oh ok, so on that way you run cfw on the real nand on lower fw, and update to the latest with emunand? so when you are on the real nand you keep your lower fw?
