Xbox One digital downloads now region locked

I remember when the XBone was revealed at the E3. It received a lot of negative feedback due to the DRM, including this. So Microsoft reversed their decision. Now it seem that after they've sold all the XBone's they believe they need to make money, they are slowly reversing the reversal, and putting back in what would have made for poor system sales.

What would happen to people who imported their consoles? Does this only count for who imported from America to Europe, or does different european countries also count? My friend imported his Xbone from the UK (to sweden) so kinda feel bad for him if he can't buy games online because his console is not from sweden. Or does this only affect online codes bought in Sweden? Whatever the case may be, this smells really shady.

In this day and age . . . havent they realised region lock is always frowned upon by customers . . . glad i never gotten any of the xbox anyways lol
