Despite having discontinued the Xbox 360 back in 2016, the system isn't entirely dead, as Microsoft has pushed out a new update for the console. The last time we saw an update for the 360, it was in March 2016, around three years after the launch of its successor: the Xbox One. Though the update is random, (potentially due to the new EU GDPR laws) it doesn't actually do much, as it's just a simple bugfix update, according to the patch notes. This puts the Xbox 360 at the latest dashboard version 2.0.17526.0 as of May 2018.

It's rubbish though how much Microsoft have let the Xbox 360 go to ruin. You still have to pay for gold but there are issues everywhere these days. Some apps totally don't work anymore (yet still remain as downloadable) You get disconnected from live every time you back out from an app or a game. Artwork doesn't load on your game list..the list goes on.

You mean the console they discontinued? Of course they're not actively supporting it. It still requires Xbox Live Gold because the games are still using Xbox Live to function. Most of the issues are just because it's old. They weren't really issues until we got a taste of something better and more efficient. But realistically there's not much reason to go back and fix things on old consoles. The assumption this was related to the EU GDPR thing is likely correct since a ton of services have updated for it.

Can't tell if acting stupid, or are stupid.
It's interesting that a discontinued console got an update 2 years later. It doesn't even take an ounce of brainpower to figure out why it would be reported on.
Not all news stories need to shake viewers to their very core from how revolutionary or exciting they are.
As long as it's not too abundant of course. We had a bit of an issue for a week or two but that problem fixed itself.
