Hacking Wow, TeamCyclops Forums Are Done For....

Wow, never saw THAT post. I guess it's cool for a mod to be crude like that but it isn't ok for a customer to be unhappy. But, oh well. I'll just go back to enjoying my Cyclo, and I hope they can get their business straightened out.

cyclo is a great card i sold my r4 for it and im glad. also all these going mad about faulty carts its not teamcyclops's fault its the factory and team cyclops are replacing them all. also team cyclo are trying to get realtime saving working as best as they can before they release the update. so for any 1 on there forum asking wheres the update why dont you try coding a flashcart yourself

It is team cyclops' fault for telling a crappy factory to produce them their plastic shells. They should see where/how other flash cart companies get their shells and follow suite as no other carts have had massive DOA like CycloDS. The fault being as minuscule as the shell thickness itself but having such a deadly outcome truly is a real shame. You would think it was the cartridge itself. Not the shell. At least it is easy to fix in the next batch.

I don't read this forum regularly guys so I only caught up with this one when a friend told me of all the Christmas spirited cheer I'd been missing over here!

It's always a tragedy when behaviour becomes an issue on a forum and bans are asserted.

Unfortunately on TC forums we have had issue with a few individuals who, because they are unhappy then decide to hijack lots of threads or start polls which serve only to vent their anger.

While I understand people's right to be heard I do not condone any individual taking the axe they have to grind and spoiling the experience for other members by using every post they contribute to a forum as a platform for being downright nasty or fulfilling their own personal vendetta at every conceivable opportunity. Unfortunately, from time to time we get a few angry teenagers who are used to balling and shouting at their parents when they don't get video game X bought for them in Walmart who decide to import their angry tactics into the peaceful pages of our forum but it never works out well for them.

Of course, because I am quite proactive in confronting what I consider to be unreasonable commentary I am obviously going to get flamed when people disagree with my moderating decisions. This neither deters nor discourages me. Often it confirms that the right decision has been made. Take this thread for example. One guy gets an infraction at our forum and his considered response is to start an angry rant on another forum - the hallmark of maturity indeed.

I have had several working CycloDS Evolutions in my possession before, and one broken one.

I found TC's service to be great, sure I had to wait a bit for my replacement, and frankly, at points I got extremely worried, but their support was the best. Their team sent out a new one ASAP, they replied to all my emails, etc. Sure I understand that there are a lot of grumpy people out there waiting forever for their CycloDS Evolution, but at least you get a replacement. I remember trying to get a replacement for my DS Linker, let's just say it never happened.

As for broken promises, you can't really classify RTS as a broken promise. They are figuring it all out, and are actually working on it, sure it has taken awhile, but let's compare this to DSX's situation, or even the all popular R4. The fact that they said they are implementing the feature is good enough.

I find it extremely annoying that there are a billion posts about Team Cyclop's replacements. I think it is necessary that people know that there are bad batches, and that you can get replacements, but might have to wait several months for it, but I think one or two threads can cover that. When every other post on TC's forum is "Where's my replacement?", "How many people have broken Evos?", "My Evo won't boot", then it just becomes annoying. I can see why moderators are taking a slightly more aggressive stance than before, there are idiots that start flame wars out of nowhere...

first of all im not even sure who gives out the replacement (reseller, or main company). but since it takes 3-5 days to get an order delivered, it would make sense if asking for a replacement take no more than 2 weeks, to send back, and send a new one - provided it's within warranty.
i would be pretty mad too if it took months.

but yea, no need to start multiple thread to voice your displeasure.

also, i'm actually planning to get a CycloDS for my first slot-1 due to Wii Connectivity and all the good reviews from my friends.

I think people has to see that TC is not really a legit company. The cycloDS isn't exactly legal to distribute and make. They are pretty much risking a lot making the chip and selling it off. This isn't a kingston chip where you can buy it from bestbuy and get a lifetime warranty by registering the product or any other big company. TC doesn't need to replace a broken cycloDS, its a bonus that they do. I doubt any other slot-1 chips would replace your cycloDS after 3-6months of use and suddenly dies.

You have to keep in mind that the reason a *VERY FEW* people had to wait a month or more to get their replacement card is that there were no cards available at all, none of the retailers had them for sale and Team Cyclops didn't have any in hand to send out as replacements because they had some manufacturing problems and possibly even a raid on their factory. This is also why some people had to wait a long time to get a card that they ordered and possibly also why they misestimated when the black models would be available by so much.

Regarding replacements, I think Team Cyclops has also had to start being more careful about who they send them to and how they deal with it. My original card I got in July was defective and they sent me a replacement before they even got the defective one from me in the mail and they even included a $20 bill to recover my time and shipping costs. But it's obvious now that they can't handle things that way anymore since too many people were trying to take advantage of the situation.

This is not meant as an excuse for Team Cyclops, it's just an explanation of the situation. Whether any excuse is needed at all is a separate matter. Personally, I agree with spen. The people making a lot of noise and complaining so vociferously are just spoiled bratty kids who need to get over themselves and their petty problems. A spoiled bratty kid only has himself to blame for his unhappiness.

For product support? And if it's overpriced, don't buy it.

I'm not going to delve too deeply into this, but please don't assume that you're being the "better man" by trying to act high and mighty and seem as if you were being extremely polite, because you weren't. You specifically told me you "couldn't be arsed" to find the proof that showed that what I had done warranted a ban, instead just describing a random situation that could have been fabricated for all I know, and handing out yet another infraction, for what? Just because you felt your authority had been challenged in a private message, and instead of handling it like a "mature" person, you cry and give me another infraction. So of course I'd see the humor, futility, and irony in the situation, which is why I wanted to share it with others and post it here. Plus, it can't be deleted/modded if one of the moderators finds that it doesn't put him/herself in a good light (here's looking directly at you, Spen).

Reply to this however you want, but my final point is clear. Giving me an infraction because I was posting about my dissatisfaction with TeamCyclops fulfillment of their promises to customers in a thread meant for the subject was wrong, and very immature. It seems as if the power afforded to you by TeamCyclops has gone to your head... and it isn't as if I'm the only one who's said you're immature, as can be seen in your comments to one of the forum members posted above about performing oral sex on you. If saying something as crass as that isn't wrong and posting about getting better support in a customer support forum is, then what have your forums come to?

For what the cards are selling for hell I'd be pissed on their ass too about performance. You don't pay double the price for just a card you pay for the service as well.

Luckily for me I wouldn't pay such a ridicules price for such a card when I can get another one just as good for half

It is a pleasure talking to a Mod who doesn't come across as under 15 years of age, and can see the difference between people getting poor service and simply posting offensive threads for the sake of it. Every post I have seen from you has come across as fair especially when you obviously don't agree with the poster.

I am not arguing my own case here, I got banned. I cannot remember exactly what I posted, but it was something along the lines of stating that there was a cheaper cart out there with similar funtionality (DSTT) as a kick up the arse to TC, so it was probably a fair ban under TCs T&C.

But there are people getting bans now for doing pretty much what Spen69 does in each thread he is involved with. and he always seems to be the one banning them. Almost every post I have seen from Spen69 has been juvinile, illconsidered and close to obnoxious. it is about time TC removed him as a moderator as he is harming their (already damaged) reputation.
