Is there any software to remove the need for an activation code? Last year I upgraded my laptop from Vista to 7 and a month ago I had to reformat my HDD. Unfortunately, for some reason, I can no longer install Vista as it crashes half way through.

As such, I've installed 7 from a friend's disc but since my 7 is an upgrade, the activation code doesn't work. I'm really not willing to pay £150 for an activation code so I'm wondering if there's software out there that can sort this out?

There is only 1 specific update you can't download though or It won't work anymore.

Do you really wanna risk doing that though on your operating system?

Windows Loader v1.9.7 should solve your problem.

Edit: Using Daz's Windows Loader v1.9.7 is safe and can be installed with all of the Windows updates. I'm sure KB971033 is the update to be avoided that ZeroDeception is referring to. Although there is no reason to install this update, it is compatible with Windows Loader v1.9.7.
