- EDIT

Thanks for the help, I used the floppy disk wires because my radio shack did not carry the 30 gauge wires. I just have 1 last question, The wire after stripped was like many multi wire inside the insulation, I just twisted it and tinned it then solder'd it. Is that fine?

Use Google for the soldering questions. It all depends on what you have already. I've not soldered a Wiikey yet, so I don't know.

Leaving the iron pressed to the board for too long will definitely fry the board, try to use 15w if you can.

Again, use Google.

It's usually better to clean the point, and apply a small amount of solder to the wire, rather than to the point. Or put some flux on the tip of your iron and use that. Not much is needed, just a tiny pinpoint really.

So this is how you solder it right, I just want to be 100% sure so nothing goes wrong.

1. Tin the solder point on the wii. (apply heat to the joint for 1 sec, while/then adding a small drop of solder.
2. Tin the Wire
3. Reheat the solder on the wii then stick the tinned wire into the melted solder.
