So I just finished installing A9LH + Luma on my 3DS. I found out that the dummy NNID that was used to transfer during the Fieldrunners downgrade is still stuck on my system. I forgot both the password and the email I used (it was disposable), leaving the account inaccessible. So will formatting my Luma SysNAND retain A9LH so I can inject FBI again?

You will not lose a9lh from formatting since nothing is stored in /nintendo 3ds/<id1>/<id2>/. Tinyformat is only useful for unlinking nands/keeping dsiware titles/keeping files on your sd card (if you want to restore a nand backup).

It's also faster than using the official settings app. Though it doesn't erase any files, which may take up space, I suppose.

Should I use TinyFormat or the stock format option (or does it matter?)
Format normally. TinyFormat is only needed when unlinking NANDs, it's not recommended otherwise because it leaves the NNID linked on the server side and it might cause problems with linking a NNID later on.

Wouldn't matter on EmuNAND/RedNAND either as far as I'm aware.
I remember back in the emunand days you had to unlink with tiny format, otherwise formatting in sysnand without tinyformat would cause a error in the eshop and you had to format emunand too to fix it.

That's because the official formatting tool unlinks the NNID from the system, whereas TinyFormat, being offline, doesn't let Nintendo's servers know that it was unlinked, making it keep working on the desired EmuNAND.

Correct. And since he is on sysnand only he doesn't need to worry about that.

Formatting emunand would do nothing I sappose eather with luma on the sysnand.
I actually fail to see your point. x.x About unlinking, it doesn't really matter which NAND you format, but it must be with TinyFormat to keep eShop working, that is, if you do have a NNID.

And what if he does?It still doesn't matter then with sysnand only cfw on the latest fw,rather then being stuck on 9.2 with no eshop access on that part of the NAND.

What is your point? That is my question.
9.2S/11.2E setup is unrelated to this. Thus my point being that your information may be slightly inaccurate or misleading to some.

My point is it doesn't matter if he formats. You are the one who brought up emunand which is pointless,so I brought up what happens when you format sysnand with a linked emunand from what I remember which is why I sead "back in the emunand days" before a9lh.I guess your point was formatting in a a9lh emunand already unlinked does nothing eather. As for being inaccurate/being off topic I'm not the one who brought up emunand,I only gave my understanding on what you had to do if he did have one, that is all.

Being inaccurate is different from being off topic. Your information was slightly inaccurate, seeming to imply that EmuNAND is different from SysNAND, when it is not, other than the fact that it is stored somewhere else. SysNAND would behave the same as EmuNAND,that was mg point.

I did it thought TinyFormat.
Got my main NNID linked.
And guess what?
ERROR CODE 007-6106 on eShop.
