Same as literally every team-based multiplayer game. It's why I mostly prefer games with a 1v1 mode. I'll still play team-based multiplayer games, but I do it for the fun, not for any expectation of climbing the ladder fast.
Actually Moba games don't punish you that hard for AFK teammates, since without them you level up much more quickly (experience is shared) and gain more gold from not having share farm.
Same goes with retard teammates, if you're good is a Moba match chances are you'll will level up much faster than your retard teammate and get much more gold too in order to carry your team.
