Such a biiig SD for a DSi?! Okay. Here you go:

FAT32 (32kb cluster size) formatted micro-SD inside an adapter works on DSi:
  • Booting is slow. It took 38 seconds from power on to TWiLight Menu++ (about 10 seconds on my main 8GB SD)
  • Brief testing: loading some nds ROMs worked. But I do not have so many games to remotely fill this card (only about 5GB filled)

For what it's worth, a complete GBA romset alone would basically take over a 32GB card. 16GB for SNES, ~8 for Genesis, 4 for the GB/C library, so on. The NDS rom archive I do have set aside takes the best part of 250gb. So, it's not entirely unreasonable to want more than 32GB.

Not just DS ROMs... NES, Genesis, SMS, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and GBA ROMs, too, @KleinesSinchen .
Hello. :)

Please note:

- SNES Emulation is far from perfect (as known for example on Gamecube or Wii). The Emulator is not actual and not updated since years. No cheat support also.
- GBA "emulation" is at the moment under "heavy re-development" from @Gericom
it maybe takes still a little while since all works perfect.

Thank you.:)

SMS (Sega Master System), not SNES.

For the boot speed you should try booting directly to TWiLight instead of Hiya → TWiLight (assuming that's what you're doing).

From what I've seen it seems that TWiLight doesn't have problems with large SD cards, but Hiya gets really slow on big SD cards

Wait... Twilight is a CFW alternative to HiyaCFW?

I know about this (and it does improve startup time on the 128GB SD) but decided not to use this option:
  • Shantae Risky's Revenge does not reliably start for me without HiyaCFW. Don't know if I'm doing something wrong.
  • WiFi does not turn off without booting TWiLight Menu++ through HiyaCFW
  • Not much of a difference on my normal 8GB SD.

It just baffled me; 128GB is way tooo much for me when looking at the average ROM size of the given systems. I do not own soooo many games and most people will never play a notable fraction of complete romsets. But my personal opinion aside, I did a test and gave an answer to the question.
