Hacking Wiikey clones

I bought a Wiikey clone for my launch Wii when they came out ($11 on DX) and am getting it installed now. Do the newest Wiikey update disks work properly with clones? Do I have to use an older update disk?

well my clone has been working great with all the updates. so you should be ok

The original WiiKey is a piece of software running on a singlechip-CPU that can basicly be found in nearly every coffemachine. Its a ATMega8 which is worth about a Dollar. There is absolutly no specialties about it. So the software really can't tell if its running on an original wiikey or a clone or if you bought the ATMega8 for yourself.
