They all worked in that day, but softmodding has come quite a distance.
ModMii rocks. Thanks XFlak :)

I had the Wasabi DX, & was happy with it for many years. Pity it didn't last :(

Hey, I'm trying to find an installation guide for D2D V2.x but couldn't find anything on the internet. Can you please help me with that? I have a few D2D V2.x chips.

I wish the Wii modchip scene would still get some love. There are still (extremely niche and questionably useful) needs for modchips on the Wii for those who want to get rid of the disc drive entirely.

From my understanding, getting rid of the disc drive requires using neek2o to boot wii games which is a pain to use.

The latest update 4.3E can still boot burned media with a modchip, with the exception of not being able to boot homebrew signed Wii discs since Nintendo patched the trucha bug in later revisions of the System Menu. It is possible to boot trucha signed discs again with the use of UNEEK/NEEK.

cool now i just gotta hunt one down lol
If you have something like some spare PIC chips, you can then maybe program your own Wii modchip. However, they will only work on older chipsets, that being DMS, D2A and D2B.

PS1 modchips are practically the same concept using similar PIC microcontroller, but porting the code over and improving the timings slightly, adding fixes to anti-piracy games, etc.

I believe the one you are talking about is that Italian seller who is selling SunKey Lite chips. I bought one off him and it arrives within like a few days. Everything was if it was brand-new, and had no troubles getting everything up and running.

The SunKey site is still up and they have installation guides on how to setup the jumpers. Installing the ribbon cables is very straight forward, there are markers that tell you which ribbon cable goes in which slot.

Just installed one, seems to work okay i tried a usa mario kart iso. I installed in the sunkey mode. didn't install until now because i wasn't sure which method to use the fusion has like 3 different install methods with different features

The DIP switches correspond to both disc speed and region. But at least it works for sure.
