Is there some online list?

By the way, the HDD i have in use now, when shutting off the wii, makes it's head go back and stop very hard, and it makes a clear sound which is worrying me, this is bad right? Some way to go around that?

What i would like to do in the future, would be to buy an external 512Gb SSD and connect it, i suppose for speed it should be the best option?

Hello.:)

You can use an SSD and it it does not have to be the most expensive.:)

open your turbografx plugin ini in wiiflow/plugins/ and take note of the magic number you're using. Then open the file platform.ini. Search for your magic number. You'll see that it's associated with a platform name (pcengine). The background by the same name will be automatically used.
So, search for the Turbografx16 platform instead, and choose one of the magic numbers associated with it.
Replace the old magic number in the plugin ini with this one.
Open wiiflow/source_menu/Rhapsodii Shima/console.ini, and replace the old magic number for pc engine.

Oh, i understand now, thank you.

I see, will consider it. Any specific example?

Thank you for Asking.:)

Actual I use this one:

https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07HNCWCNL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
(WOW,what happend to the Price ??? I bought it for 37 Euros 2 Weeks ago....)

No Issues on recognizing and works with all 3 USBLoaders.
As you already mentioned,it is for the "Speed".:D
I have also all Emulator Roms and Cover/Box Art too in it.

Thank you.:)

Thanks man.

But you will also need a shell to connect it to wii, what did you use?

What about SD cards? Are they (fakes notwithstanding) generally comparable to USB HDDs for Wii homebrew and backups in terms of reliability?
No, I don't think sd cards are as reliable either. In theory, the manufacturers annouced thousands of read/write. Well, perhaps it's better now for expensive brands. But the first kingston for example were really shitty. 2 years of daily usage was a miracle.

For homebrews, we must also take into account that the softwares we use(the libfat library, the cios) may not be as compatible and tested as other operating systems.

Not sure about ssd drives. it seems a waste of money if it's just for the Wii. The games won't run faster. No idea if they last so long either.

You will maybe notice it on Cover Load,if you have +200 Games on USBLoader GX for Example,also on the Emulators.
It is definetly not for the Game Loading Time.
Everyone can get an Idea of it and everyone can decide for himself what Type of Hard Drive he wants to use.:)

Thank you.:)

The Wii's USB ports are USB 2.0. In terms of speed, a USB 3.0 HDD is already more than you can achieve.

However, I don't really know about SSD's longevity. They're supposed to last longer and be more robust. Is it really the case? It's not an old technology so it's hard to know.

Hello. I am having an issue with wiiflow. im trying to load from my 64gb sd card but only the gc games work I googled as much as i could but nothing ive tried works. Ive tried installing the D2X IOS251[58] v10, D2X IOS250[57] v10, and D2X IOS249[56] v10 like the original guide said. Ive tried the force revision thing on all 3 of them, but i always get a black screen, forcing me to pull out my wiiu cord and re-insert. The only thing i havent done is install custom ios 236, but the guides say thats not needed. I've read other people's questions who have had that issue and it hasnt helped. I feel like the answer is obvious but im just missing it. By the way here is my wiiflow log file..

Hello

Is it a simple SD card or micro SD ??

Is your SD card formatting FAT 32 ??

Do you have a WBFS folder at the root of the SD, for wii games?

Do you use "wii backup manager" to manage your wii games on the SD card?

And use the cios d2x version 10 beta 52 alt.

It's a simple Sd Card not an adapter and yea it's on fat32 because I can still run gc games and even roms through the plugins...its only Wii games that aren't working...

And no...no white bar...wiiflow loading icon appears for about half a second then disappears and just black screen...and yes I have already installed d2x 10 beta 52 but it still doesnt load...even after force cios is on..for 249 -251, And yes I have the Wii games in w bfs format in a folder named w bfs on my sd card and I did use Wii backup manager since some of them had to be split in order to fit on the fat32 card and yes I realized so I read up on what they did but nothing worked...the last thing I thought of is maybe cause I mixed the 5.4.0 booter stuff with the danimal master pack so maybe there's some incompatibility but then I wouldn't be able to run anything at all...

@jpmasterflex :

Just try the version of Fledge68 ==>https://github.com/Fledge68/WiiFlow_Lite/releases

All about wiiflow lite ==>https://gbatemp.net/threads/wiiflow-lite.422685/

thanks to Fledge68. :yay:

thats what ive been using. i said i have 5.4.0 meaning wiiflow lite ver 5.4.0 now known as wiiflow...i just merged it with the master pack to get the other folders.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Wiiflow log looks good.
Syscheck looks good.

When you launch a wii game do you see a white bar across the bottom of the screen? A lot of people cant launch wii games from sd card on wii u vwii.

no...no white bar...wiiflow loading icon appears for about half a second then disappears and just black screen...and yes I have already installed d2x 10 beta 52 but it still doesnt load...even after force cios is on..for 249 -251.i saw somewhere that any issues with loading is caused by missing cios installs but it didnt say which ones...just presented a packof wii wads which i know i cant use cause its vwii not regular wii so im stumped

Update : Configurable USB Loader loads my games just fine so i've decided to use that for the time being

@jpmasterflex ...

Just a shot in the dark. In WFL, click on Settings>NAND Emulation Settings>Set>Saves NAND Emulation>Off

If it is set to Game save or Full, this could be your problem. Hope this helps.

That sounds like a shot in the dark alright lol ill give it a whirl

update: turns out i had it off the whole time..still black screen

Not sure if it's a copy paste error or not but your debug output doesn't show your try of cios 251 base 58, but twice 249 base 56... 251 base 58 seems to be the only one that works for Wii games on my WiiU in vWii mode. Are you sure you tried it ?
