One frame was the black background. That frame could be taken out since there will be a black background when no pic is loaded.

I'm sorry, i didn't read it fully. i can only apologise. There was pressure on space because there are only 30 options for each question. You also said you weren't bothered to enter the competition? i may have read that wrong.

No, it's no problem at all. I would have been fine if you didn't add me to the list at all, since I was never actually planning on competing, just giving a few ideas for others. I just thought it was funny that you picked the one you did, because I didn't really like it myself. But you had a good reason.

Anyway, don't worry about it. :)

Yes, I agree, too.

Just a thought dealing with stability, not filling up memory too much. Since it looks like #11 is winning all three questions at this point but it has 10 frames, would it look THAT bad if a 10-frame animation were cut down to just using every other image? (after all it is a LOADING image and might end up being choppy animation anyway) Just food for thought.

On this thought, pepxl's

Is, comparatively, very popular, and only racks up 5 frames.

I actually really like the winning animation.
I just made a mockup of a 5-frame version to see how it would look
5-frame

10-frame (original)

The original definitely looks better but only 5 frames doesn't look that bad and the frame rate on the TV itself isn't going to be that constant anyhow.
IF by all means if the 10-frames aren't likely to effect stability then I'd say go with that one but just thought I'd throw that idea out there.

They need to create a way to allow the user to replace the boot animation sequence within the wiiflow directory folder. And then we could create a page with custom boot animations that would allow people to download the style they prefer and copy the sequence files over to their wiiflow directory "bootlogo" folder.

This was possible in 2.2. Indeed, I've seen the code for this on #wiiflow, the only issue is that wiflow loads the frame from the original animation, and then the replacement frame, before moving on. Although this may have changed with the all new memory management!!!!!!

i still think the boot screen should be moved to a theme. an get rid of it on the boot.dol..
1 if it's not in the dol, that would save memory.(but also depends on how or if it's used in the theme.).
2 anyone can make there own bootscreen, without having to know how to compile,an bugging the crap out of the ones who do.(more noob/user friendly.)
i'm glad number 10 is winning. the one thats being used now,(i guess jj's. kinda sucks. looks better on the smaller screen.).i hate the gray line that follows behind the brite star looks a little messy. the first couple ones of the same animation look better.(number 8).

could also easily introduce startup animations for themes.
eg.

Starnight one

Ya know the mario boot that's on Abz's tut? if set on forward/backward, he moonwalks back to the left when he gets to the right. Can anyone make him moonwalk both directions? :D
