About time all the WAD pirates got screwed over.

And we get to have some fun.

Happy times.
There's always one.

Can't be that we want to use our legally purchased import games at all. No interest in using them.

Anyone interested in a US copy of Smash Bros Brawl that I can no longer use?

Also, the -2011 error... I did see one other post about it before this update. But there was like you said, no information at all. My next step will be a downgrade attempt, because I'm starting to believe this error is seperate to my issues.

Just a little question: Do you have the most recent cIOS? I have it, WAD Manager 1.21 uses it (It tell you in the beginning that it 'found' the cIOS and will use it) and I have no problem at all installing WADs. It wouldn't hurt to try if you don't have it. =P

Never had it installed, and that is probably why you're having success and I didn't. It barely matters now because we don't even have a Homebrew Channel left.

Need the region free loader fixed anyway to properly recover from this mess.

Okay, if you don't want your WADs to be rmoved, don't use 'Wad Manager'. Otherwise that channel will be deleted (luckily it was only a Channel I was doing tests on).

Using 'Wad Installer' just comes up with the error but leaves the channel along.

So, wait, yhmh, what does it exactly do? For fuck sake, one person tells something, the other one something different and I can't understand

A. Does it affect WADs?
B. Does it affect HBC
C. Does it affect Already installed games?
D. Can you downgrade and have the Shop Channel working?

Thank you.

The summary as far as i am aware:

All IOS have been patched and it looks like stuff that relies on IOS needs to now be cIOS aware or else they will fail. This includes WAD manager.
Homebrew channel won't install this end. Before I tried that, it was working still.
No more region changing as a byproduct of the IOS patching, so if your existing games are foreign, they are affected.
Not tried downgrading.

Thank you.

A - You can't install any WADs. Keep getting errors, even on WADs that do install.
B - No. Just some apps won't work.
C - It won't delete any installed channels. Just DON'T USE WAD MANAGER or else you channel will disappear.
D - I've had no luck. Possible because I haven't installed the latest 'cIOS37_rev3-Installer' file. >_< If you have that file, you might be alright. Otherwise you're a bit screwed for now.

That's great, except it has nothing to do with trucha, and nothing to do with this update.

I wrote menuloader, which lets you use imports. I obviously don't have a problem with imports. In fact, menuloader should work just fine even after this update.

The downgrader doesn't downgrade every IOS version.

Downgrade after doing the update will only downgrade IOS30 and System Menu. Other IOS versions will still have Trucha bug fixed.

About those who don't have a Custom IOS installed and they cannot install WADs with Trucha signature... probably I have a dirty "workaround" for this.

Well, it's not. It doesn't work at all anymore.

If it still worked, I wouldn't have bothered trying to fix anything, and now losing homebrew channel completely.

I appreciate your work, but I can't use it right now. And my brother updated the Wii in the first place because he was going to the Wii shop to buy Megaman 9.

Please don't accuse me of dishonesty - I support work, and so does my brother. If anything, if we didn't want to play honestly we wouldn't have updated and would likely have skipped it after the horror reports came in.

at this point i wouldn't be surprised if we start to see custom firmware, it's obvious that it ain't safe to install nintendos firmware anymore that's for sure.

everytime a hack is found, nintendo are prompt to close that loop hole it seems.

I know what you're about to do, and I'm asking you not to do it. It's not a good idea. Neither of the two ideas that you're going to have are good ideas.

Anyone have the IOS30 Waninko is referring to? I tried to downgrade but I get the "ret = -2011" error. when trying to install the IOS37-64-v2070.wad. Or am I doing something wrong? I just got into the HBC scene 2 days ago and I did not install any cIOS.

Or am I screwed right now?

And I am getting the same "3.4" errors even thougn my Wii Settings menu says I have 3.3U... so why is everyone calling this 3.4?
