Personally, i'd recommend not updating just yet. Wait for a workround to come out (if possible).QUOTE said:Updated all IOSes, and IOS51
Released: 23rd October 2008
This blocks new installations of anything fakesigned, that is, Homebrew Channel, wads (legal and illegal), Starfall, cIOS, anything that installs IOSes secretly like AnyRegion Changer or AnyTitle Deleter, xyzzy and DVDX (used for apps which have DVD support). The homebrew developers are already planning how they could work against this. If something is already installed then it isn't affected, like Homebrew Channel, etc. You currently need this update to access the Wii Shop Channel. It updates all IOSes with the fakesigning bug, and adds IOS51.

This sounds extraordinarily dangerous.knowitall599 said:What you need to do is use the AnyTitleDeleter and delete all system files. Then install the cios. All will be ok after that.

I thought that AnyTitle Deleter was not installing anything and so won't suffer from this update, am I wrong ?
Technically, you could smply delete IOS taht are important (like the ones used by Twilight and the HBC) and reinstall them using Updates from legit gamedisc ?

Very interesting... which IOS would these be? I'd be willing to test this out if I find out what IOS to remove using AnyTitle and find a suitable disc with updates.Jacobeian said:Technically, you could smply delete IOS taht are important (like the ones used by Twilight and the HBC) and reinstall them using Updates from legit gamedisc ?

i have 1900 legit points...
and i guess they want me to turn to piracy cause im not getting rid of my homenrew
It's beginning to a look a little dire for updated Wiis without any homebrew channel on them.Jacobeian said:I hope you know what you are doing... there is no proof that this is safe and even that it will works
I dunno if a deleted IOS can be reinstalled via a disc update
UPDATE: after looking at the code, it won't even work
the User identification required for accessing stuff is using a fake signature
