Hacking Wii Update: 3.3U Out

Can someone change the title of this thread to "23 Oct update" or similar, instead of 3.4?

I updated my Wii to 3.3E the day before this update, and yes it was the old 3.3E update! i still can remove and install the HBC and install other wads

I updated and I observed no negative effects. HBC and TH work as usual, all homebrew apps including two different backup loaders work fine, booting games from other regions also works fine for me. Not all installers still work, however, I successfully used Waninkoko's WAD Manager, but I already had his cIOS installed. If it isn't installed, I guess some things wouldn't work anymore.

Since this is mostly an IOS update, it should be the same in all regions. The System Menu has not been changed, that's why the version number is still the same.
However, I'm curious what IOS51 will be used for. It surely adds new security "features".

Starfall doesn't work on any Software Version except 3.2, it has nothing to do with the signing bug fixed in this update.

AnyTitle Deleter still works, you just have to recompile it and remove brick-protections if you want to start screwing with regular IOS.
I have it recompiled, but I will not provide it, as it is a dangerous utility in this state..

i just want to know wat this update does, and wat wont work "scene-wise" (loaders, hb channel, modchips, etc)

nope, if you downgrade, the ISO'es still be updated, if you don't have already installed a "custom IOS" (cIOS), there is nothing you can do, sorry

nope, if you downgrade, the ISO'es still be updated, if you don't have already installed a "custom IOS" (cIOS), there is nothing you can do, sorry

Im going to end up buying wiispeak. Does this mean i have to update my wii in the near future? Because i still want the B-launcher and the HBC. Not to mention the ability to get free wiiware/vc games.

THe main point about this is installing new stuff in the future. Like Wiigator Uploaded ver 3. If you haven't yet add version 1 to you WIIs with all the parts/ Ciso 249 and DVDx etc etc. You haven't done that and you do a update. You will not be able to untill it's worked around again.

I have a chipped PAL Wii. I am on 3.2E right now. I have no cIOS yet. Would a cIOS be smart?
(I never use the wii shop by the way) I really would like some good advice as I like the idea my 3.2E Wii is still "clean"....

And if a cIOS is the wisest decision which one do I get:
- Custom IOS36 rev 05
- Custom IOS37 rev 03
- Custom IOS37 rev 02

I wanna bring up the cIOS Downgrader again.

Does the usage of the downgrader will remove the patched IOS'es when I choose for ex. v3.2E
(I had cios_fix installed before updating to new v 3.3E)

If you wanna use a cIOS, the use the cios_fix

- you cant install HBC
- you can only use WADs if you have cIOS already installed
- YOU CANT DOWNGRADE

It's a one way trip

on one wii, I have installed the cIOS_fix first. then I updated it.
The Downgrader 1.2 runs and I can choose out of the FWs wich I wanna use.

My question was if the downgrader fully eliminates the patched IOS'es and I'm back on 3.2E,
where are the fakesigning bug available in every IOS.

Maybe waninkoko could clear this up. he developed the downgrader.

Afaik it only downgrades the IOS the system menu uses. That was IOS30 i belive...

Oh, I see what you mean.

At this point everything has to use a cIOS otherwise it plain won't work, and this includes HBC installer and other downgrade/delete tools, which is a good catch-22 if they don't exist on the Wii.

Not sure what can be done in this situation.
