I can throw in a couple tests as well, but...what are we going to test? Like you, I'm on 4.2. That means our IOS60 is already stubbed (4.2 SM uses IOS70), so...how are we even going to know that our stubbed IOS has become corrupted?

which one of you geniuses decided that it was corrupting your IOS? think about this for a minute.

PPC programs ( the system menu included ) are not supposed to even know what the hell a IOS is. they have no way of checking it. there is nothing for them to compare it to. how would they know if an IOS was corrupt?

Im on 4.1e played the game all the way through didnt have a single glitch. I have StartPatch installed not Preloader or Priiloader

I hate to burst your bubble but it also happens on Wiiflow...
Better solution other than not playing this game?
Proof?

I've only ever heard of a wii becoming bricked bc of USB Loader GX, and I've seen plenty of threads about it happening. Never once have I seen a thread about a wii getting bricked from wiiflow or CFG loader.

1. I'm basing it on the fact that reinstalling IOS60 fixes it. considering this is the only thing that's needed to fix the situation, it doesn't sound like a bad assumption.
2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the IOS the thing that loads or at least uses these PPC programs? If so, isn't it normal that a broken cIOS that tries to run a good program goes wrong somewhere?

Note: I know very well you know much more about the wii and programming than me, giantpune. It's very possible that I'm missing things (information or knowledge), or that I'm drawing wrong conclusions. But I have thought about it for a minute (even longer, if you take my time in this post in account), and can't come up with a better explanation.
And it may sound arrogant, but I've heard "but it is not supposed to do that" far too often to immediately rule it out as a possibility.

It's not corupting IOS as if that were the case it wouldn't even display files corrupt. It would be a black screen. This is a bizzare thing that I've never heard of though. Make sure it doesnt do this when using original IOS in all slots

I'm able to brick my wii with All Usb loader using FAT.
Reinstalling ios 60 fixes it.

For proof i'll try to make a vid. I'll use Wiiflow as Deadlyfoez suggested.

EDIT: When a unpatched ios 60 installed it seems the Wii reboots the way it should after 2 times.
Sometimes it boots fine.

I Agree, very weird bug......

Update: I tried it on Sm 4.3 ( iso 80 ) hoping this would fix it.

Bad news, same story applies here. Bricked.
Reinstalling ios 80 fixes it....

Could it have something to do with Priiloader?

Has somebody been able to make the Wii crash like this?

I have been unable to recreate this problem using the NTSC-U version of the game.

I can't trigger the problem over here it launched and exited 10 times in a row without any issue (4.2e Wanin's rev20 base 56 wiiflow+cfg)

Try something out for me. Use punes NandBuilder app (ohneswanzenegger) to build a fresh nand and try from retail disc. If possible then PLEASE use that and then we can determine if it is the game or not.

BC it could be your rip, it could be the cIOS, it could be from priiloader, or many other things. But that is my best suggestion as a starting point for figuring out this issue.

If it works then install priiloader. If it still works then install a cIOS and launch from the a usbloader.

Process of elimination my friend.

If something was to corrupt the system ios, would it not be most likely caused by the cios/app loading that ios? I can't see how priiloader could corrupt the system ios when it is loaded after that ios. It seems that the ios is being corrupted during the reload. Why this would cause an error is beyond me, it should just be lights out BSOD, like the usb loader gx bricks.

Sorry to dbl post, but what disc are you using in your vid to launch from RM?

Can you please explain what you mean by RM?
If you mean the HDD, it's a brand new WD Elements 1 TB FAT 32 fomatted.

A system menu without Priiloader also gives the Message, so that's ruled out.
Also All Cios I used (Hermes, Waninkoko's ) can make it happen.
It happens on SM 4.1~4.3.
SM 4.1 sometimes is still able to reboot, 5 out of 10 times.
SM 4.3 is'nt able to reboot not 0 out of 10 times.

I'll try the retail game later and try to do what Deadlyfoez said.
First i'm going to uninstall all my custom channels. Maybe there's an issue loading them properly...
Also I somewhat suspect it's the game on my hard drive.
