Hardware wii lens + modchip

so now that i have my d2pro9, some games i play, during the loading, you can hear the drive read it much louder than retail games. what i want to know is, will this affect the wii lens as in decrease its life ie. the lens wont be able to read games as good anymore?

i know the ps2 lens tend to get weaker overtime..

no, i wouldn't say so, just don't play games 24/7 but the wiis drive is pretty strong so no worriers

My first Wii's dvd drive wasnt pretty strong when I attempted to close my custom case. I inheritly installed the case wrong and crushed the Wii's dvd drive during the process....its not strong at all!

Which led me getting another Wii and only installing Half of the case:
