what do you mean? i don't think nintendo have any right to vandalise peoples mods no matter if they are illegal or not as it's private property and they could be sued for it if they atempt it.

Delete yur WiFi Settings...

Block yur wii from your router.
If they can get in any other way its hacking

Updated my Wii (purchased on release day) to 3.0U with WiiKey installed with wires. No problems, No warning screen.
To clarify, I went to the settings to update it.

It's good to see more traffic to the wii sections, other than the newbies with the same concerns (I was one just a week ago myself!!). It's terrible that it's because of bad news.

personally, I've never loaded the wiikey setup disc before ever, but still it's a concern for sure. something has to be going on if it won't load for some reason now.

I'm confirming this, Wiikey 1.2 boot disc no longer works. But I just tried Big Brain Academy and it works fine

AM burning a new copy of WiiKey Setup 1.2.

Super Paper Mario works fine... as my other Wii Backups.
and my other gamecube game work fine...

just a general side question: what happens if you load the wiikey config disc on a nonwiikey mod like cyclowiz? will it load?

also, what happens when you do config the modchip? how does it actually interact with the serial interface of the dms/d2a/d2b? is there a way of knowing if the signal got there properly / does the chip respond with anything? and does it normally transmit any data to the chip that could ultimately be sent to the wii itself? just because it's a drivemod doesn't mean it can't be accessed by the wii itself, especially if it can be updated / configged via the wii.

I'm not saying anything of what I said is necessarily true since I haven't studied the dynamics of how the serial interface works. It may possibly mean that chips that are designed to somehow not be configurable / updated via the wii may be more "resilient"

I'm hoping this will not delay the new WiiKey update...

I too have had WiiKey Region Override set to "on" before i updated.
