I ordered one today (pre-soldered with a D2CKey) + Tri-Wing for $76 CDN total from ozmodchips.com. There's also a free shipping (tracking + insurance) promotion going on for international customers who are members of GBATemp with at least 1 post. If you are in Oz you get 5.50 off instead of free shipping. That was the lowest price I could find anywhere.

Does anyone know if the key clip is dvd upgradeable if you use it as a wiikey?

Offtopic: How do you make quotes where it says the name of the person you are quoting and the time when they posted?

Nice to hear free shipping for International Customer!

I am waiting for rambogames people to get me back about the pricing since my country is nearer them. It's hard to believe that it is 3USD each.

yeah they emailed me too

prices are low but shipping is $30 to canada which seems high

not that it matters, quite happy with ozmodchips.com today, the order was sent out ~3 hours after payment cleared.

will be happy to play the backups again

Gotten the information. Shipping is USD 30. D2C Pro is USD 12. But never tell me about Wii Clip.

I guess ozmodchips.com is better since it come in bundle. Gotta ask my coll if she want. heh

i'm getting a key clip (basically a clip on WiiKey) for about $44AUD ($40US) including the programmer from ic2005, it's way cheaper than getting a wiikey install from ozmodchips ($90AUD)

KEY-CLIP_09.jpg

left - Programmer
right - key clip

ic2005 is where i'm getting mine from too, they're the only people stocking them right now although i'm not sure of their reliability, but they look pretty credible.

The key clip and programmer is useless because I can make the programmer myself and install a wiikey without the clip. Why on earth would I pay for this? The wiikey isn't a d2ckey or d2pro. It's five freakin wires. And if you wanted to update the chip all you'd need is the freakin 1.9s fw disc or the config 1.4 from wiikey.cn. The DB25 parallel port adapter programmer is unneccesary to program the wiikey. I can make it myself and have been doing it since november. I reprogram wiikey clones all day long.

btw,
I'm referring to the post above and not the topic of the original poster.

ic2005 is reliable.

Took about 1 week from time of order to get my wii-clip delivered to London.

Dispatched from Hong Kong.

Nearly everything i buy from Hong Kong sites take a week to come to London, so ic2005 is just as good as anyone else, that includes people like play-asia.

all the wii-clips are now revealed on their website

does anyone know the shipping price from ic2005 to Canada is?

EDIT: turns out ic2005 doesn't charge for retail shipping orders....free shipping!!!

I had to register to say thanks to OzModChips for being so honest. I too am of the opinion that many modders will slag this thing off simply because it will cut into their business so to have someone like this being so positive about something of this nature is very refreshing.

Thumbs up fella!

Nice forum.. Great Thread.

I really like the Wii Clip idea and many many thanks to the all feedbacks and reviews about it.

Special thanks to tom35 and aligborat69 for their detailed analysis.

Which is the best place to get Wii Clips soldered with modchips? mxconsole or ic2005 or techsick? I figured out techsick is nearly 30 USD more than mxconsole.

Of all the modchips soldered with the Wii Clip, which one most of you prefer?

I'm slightly inclined towards D2CKey Wii Clip, as I've heard only good things about its performance. Please advise.

Thanks a lot for everyone to share their insights into this thread!

Thanks for your reply, stok3d.

How do I get Free Shipping and Insurance?

Many thanks again for your response.

Installed my Wii-Clip / D2Pro today. Never soldered a thing in my life before now but the thing works like a charm!

Now I just gotta get a good copy of Brawl.

Do you mind letting us know from where you bought yours and why preferred D2Pro over D2Ckey or any other mod chips?

Thanks a lot in advance!

I got my Wii-Clip from ic2005.com and the D2Pro from canadamods.ca. Took about 10 days (I actually started the thread, "How long did shipping take" or something like that in this forum)

I got the D2Pro over everything else because it seemed like it was the least buggy and was newer than D2Ckey if I'm not mistaken. I figured that'd be less pins for the D2CKey Wii-Clip to have to line up with perfectly on the drive chip.
