One important detail is if the drive uses a MBR or GUID. Does the HDD work with WinXP? As far as i know XP does not support GUID HDDs. I know that a sd card with GUID(like you get if you format it on an Apple) won't work for most if not all homebrew.

You can choose. I choosed MBR for compatibility. I just formated this drive again with the WD-software, but i don't think it will be recognized yet.
