Yeah, this is actually a very different type of game from either of the two aforementioned titles. The only commonality, really, is that they're all platformers. But de Blob has more of a Katamari thing going on, only with actual objectives. There are a lot of obvious influences, but Mario would be low on my list of comparisons.
I'm liking the fact that it's easier to play than the first one, plus there are extra "quests" that can be undertaken to extend a level.
As said, cut scenes are good and it holds your attention without being too kawaii or frenetic.

Can you save when you want ?
The first one couldn't save in the middle of a stage, you had to finish it, but it was quite long, more than 1H per stages

No, but it saves very frequently. 4-7 times per Level.

everytime you you transform a building or area it autosaves it's way better than de blob 1 in every single way i'll be doing a review soon once i've finished it.
