i think it has to do with regionalizing and the regional updates on disc and so forth to combat piracy.
I know the Mario Kart US version does not work on a wii because of IOS updates that the Korean wii doesn't. It is just their strategic planning for the Korean market. Most of the nintendo developed games like Warioware also doesn't work with the Korean wiis. Korean has a hugh pirating problem. I know I live here...its pretty bad...

Why does it say that you're from the US then? I know it's bad there, about 80% of all kids with DS systems have an R4. Poor kids, they don't know that it's dead.
