Gaming Why do you want online play?

Hi Guys!
I'd like to know your opinion about this question:
Why do you want/care about online play?
As I understand some will go as far as to purchase a new device for it.

I prefer playing offline since NES when I was kid.. Still today through PS4. OFFLINE. An online is not for me. Never was and never will.

I myself dread online play because of two things:
1. Unstable internet ruining the experience
2. Cheaters

It always amuses me to let the CPU move around with the ball and not shooting in FIFA 18

Primarily for Pokemon and Smash. Secondary reasons are Mario Tennis Aces and Splatoon 2.

I prefer offline single player games and the couch coop from time to time. No need for online play (suck at it anyway).

Because when I play with CPU it feels so...empty? I feel alone when I play with CPU.
And I don't have friends irl to play, so online play is really great for me...specially because it takes you to a random room with new people everytime, I really love it

Updates and DLC are priority for me. Next would be playing games with my family. We have multiple carts for that but I dove into the brew-train (I mean who wouldn't want to be able to freely backup save files) and I'll likely end up banned for it but meh the few games I really care about seem to offer local play at least.

I like playing Kario Mart online from time to time and I’ll probably gonna buy Smash. I’m also thinking about getting Aces.

A lot of the games I play now have some sort of online component to them, but I tend to leave most of them alone. Save games like Destiny, Borderlands 2, Diablo. But I usually play while in a chat party just to talk to my friends even if we are all playing different stuff.

Need online so I can settle things like gentlemen would; in Smash! Otherwise, Pokemon is another reason for online as well any DLC that I like.
