You can bet your behind that this is not the only thread people are bitching about. But most people don't dare to bitch about this in public or are too lazy to do it.For one thread? Maybe we could move it to edge of the forum. At least stop postcounts from rising then.
Seriously, I just said this, read please. If it's not in the right section, people who are looking for it won't find it nearly as easily. They'll either make their own thread or post in the main section and have to be directed to this thread since it wouldn't be visible.
What's the point of complaining about a thread if it's not going to reach the ears of anybody that could help the situation? This is the only thread I've seen multiple people complain about the existence of.You can bet your behind that this is not the only thread people are bitching about. But most people don't dare to bitch about this in public or are too lazy to do it.
Do you really believe this? I am ready to make a bet with you that noone will open another "Whine whine, Devolution AP" thread if this thread gets locked or moved to the EOF.This thread is designated to contain the complaining that already exists and will exist. Removing the thread will not remove the complaining.
I will.Do you really believe this? I am ready to make a bet with youthat noone will open another "Whine whine, Devolution AP" thread if this thread gets locked or moved to the EOF.This thread is designated to contain the complaining that already exists and will exist. Removing the thread will not remove the complaining.
Besides, what business has a thread that solely purpose it is to contain bitching to be in a section dedicated to hacking? As far as I am concerned, this topic is not about wii hacking, not even in the slighest.
What story? And nobody will pay attention to you because you can't keep your story straight.
Firstly that's an action replay, not a retail gamecube game.
Secondly in the Devolution thread you said it was always returning to HBC after flashing four times. Your video shows it is ejecting the disc (wrong disc id).
Thirdly nothing in that video proves that you don't have a modchip, which is the most likely explanation.
1. I dont think that really matters. (It does the same with every game)
2. You said it means read error so I reformated my USB and it does this now.
3. I dont have a modchip installed.
So I guess you also removed the modchip at the same time as reformatting your USB drive and you haven't re-ripped the discs?
The .ISO files have the wrong disc ID because they were ripped with the modchip's region free setting turned on. Without the chip installed, the discs no longer match the .ISO files and don't even get to the verification stage (where they used to fail because your modchip is crap).
I already said that I ripped the ISOs without modchip.
Then explain why the first 8 bytes of your .iso files don't match the discs they were ripped from.
I dont know.
Actually it would be good to see the entire *-dumpinfo.txt created by cleanrip for one of the dumps.
Do you have memory issues? People opened multiple threads while this one still exists.Do you really believe this? I am ready to make a bet with you that noone will open another "Whine whine, Devolution AP" thread if this thread gets locked or moved to the EOF.
A visible offshoot from the real discussion.Besides, what business has a thread that solely purpose it is to contain bitching to be in a section dedicated to hacking?
Oh, right, and people were comparing hex dumps and I posted a flowchart of the (surmised) boot process and people were discussing drive ID and timestamps in relation to the AP. And none of that has to do with trying to hack the software. As far as I am concerned, this topic is not about wii hacking, not even in the slighest.
Really? Must have missed them. Links please?Do you have memory issues? People opened multiple threads while this one still exists.Do you really believe this? Ah, you mean like seperating Pokemon game discussion and Pokemon AP discussion, right? But, the difference here is that this thread hasn't produced anything useful since its existence. This is not about circumventing or cracking the AP (I was told these type of discussions are prohibited here regardless of these numerous DS game cracking threads), but about discussion why tueidj implemented an AP in his loader. Seriously, why? Because he can. Because he chose so. Because he doesn't want people to pirate with his loader. Because to find out if someone can figure it out. END OF STORY.A visible offshoot from the real discussion.Besides, what business has a thread that solely purpose it is to contain bitching to be in a section dedicated to hacking?
This thread is about "why", not "how" or "maybe". As I said, I was told that "how" is prohibited here and "maybe" is just useless speculation.Oh, right, and people were comparing hex dumps and I posted a flowchart of the (surmised) boot process and people were discussing drive ID and timestamps in relation to the AP. And none of that has to do with trying to hack the software. As far as I am concerned, this topic is not about wii hacking, not even in the slighest.
Sure, here's one from 10 days ago.Really? Must have missed them. Links please?
Sort of, yeah.Ah, you mean like seperating Pokemon game discussion and Pokemon AP discussion, right?
Trash cans don't produce either, but we keep them around our houses. But, the difference here is that this thread hasn't produced anything useful since its existence.
I think the concern is holding illegal materials here, mods can jump the gun from time to time to keep the site safe. This is not about circumventing or cracking the AP (I was told these type of discussions are prohibited here regardless of these numerous DS game cracking threads),
If people would just take that answer this thread wouldn't be 72 pages and people wouldn't be making dupes to complain.but about discussion why tueidj implemented an AP in his loader. Seriously, why? Because he can. Because he chose so. Because he doesn't want people to pirate with his loader. Because to find out if someone can figure it out. END OF STORY.
Here you go:Remember when you asked him to make a video of Devolution rejecting one of his retail discs and he posted the video of it rejecting an action replay disc instead (which is to be expected, it's not a proper game disc and will throw read errors due to the way it is manufactured):
No response when asked for the cleanrip dump information files and no Devolution logs posted either.Firstly that's an action replay, not a retail gamecube game.
Secondly in the Devolution thread you said it was always returning to HBC after flashing four times. Your video shows it is ejecting the disc (wrong disc id).

Quick solution: Stick a notice above the forum list, so people will always see it.Sure, here's one from 10 days ago.Really? Must have missed them. Links please?

It's not hard to miss them, they get locked since they're duplicates of this thread (so they fall off the front page permanently)... but if this thread wasn't here, then one of the current-dupes wouldn't be a dupe and would stay unlocked, and thus bumped by posts, and be visible just like this thread is.
Also people tend to typo the name.
But you don't keep your trash can in your living room.Trash cans don't produce either, but we keep them around our houses. But, the difference here is that this thread hasn't produced anything useful since its existence.
Nah, nothing to do with illegal material, I was told the discussion is prohibited, quoting a line from the rules:I think the concern is holding illegal materials here, mods can jump the gun from time to time to keep the site safe. This is not about circumventing or cracking the AP (I was told these type of discussions are prohibited here regardless of these numerous DS game cracking threads),
I know it's stupid, but I learned moderator rules are to be respected the hard way. These rules also apply to other "warez" too, not just ROM, WAD and ISO files; this includes (but is NOT limited to) - licensed and copyrighted software, code, movies, music, video games, magazines, comics, e-books, television shows, illegal torrents, etc. These rules also account for "keygens" and "cracks" including how to obtain, apply or install them.
