Gaming Who Will Be Your Pokemon D/P Starter?

I'm not actually going to have any starters in my final team, but I'll start with Piplup.

Ummm they are all vunerable to each other...I think it was the point of the types.

I mean the grass becomes grass/ground, fire weak to ground, steel weak to ground.
Fire becomes fire/fight, steel weak to fight, grass weak to fire
Water becomes water/steel, ground weak to water, fire weak to water

Adding to that, ground (earthquake) is a physical attack which both fire and water starters are weakest too, yet it's turtwigs strongest. Then the fight type being physical against water, yet fire is special against turtwig which is his weakest defence, etc.
