pqi has lifetime warranty on their SD cards. I never had a problem with those (I must have 4 or 5 pqi micro SD cards)

Anyone have thoughts on a samsung evo 64GB? With the evos 48MB/s vs sandisks 30, would the games run/load faster? The Samsung Pro is 90 Mb/s! Could I justify buying one of these? Would the speed difference be noticable?

No problems here with assorted class 10 Kingston cards. Have 3 and they all work just fine. (2x32 and a 64) Have to say I generally prefer Sandisk though.

I got a Samsung Plus 64GB Class 10 card for 29,29 euro from Ebay.
I tested it with h2testw, and formatted it to exFat on Windows 8.1, works fine on my Gateway.

To the people saying that Kingstons aren't good for GW: What problems have you had with them? Games hanging? Crashing? The card not getting detected? I tried playing SM3DL using a 32 GB Kingston and didn't have any issues, but I only tested it for a few minutes.

Not detected.

Out of the 4 Kingstons I have, the 3 class 10 don't get detected at all. The class 4 detects and is fine.

All are legit (verify as legit on Kingston's site)
All test correctly using h2testw, size and expected speeds are fine.

The three that don't work, work fine in the blue card, work fine in an old acekard and work fine in my camera. They just aren't seen by the Gateway.

Gateway itself appears fine and works with all the other cards I've given it.

I always use Kingston for everything because they're the most reliable memory manufacturer in the world. Never had any issues.
Tried Kingston Class 10 16GB, 32GB works without any problems.
Tried Kingston Class 4 8GB, 16GB and it works as well.
No freezes, no fragmentation errors, no slow downs.

has anyone tried a Class10 ADATA 64gb? My local computer store has one on sale for $29.99, it goes up to 45mb/s which is 1.5x faster than sandisk. Considering on buying it

Are you talking about Canada Computers?

From reports I have heard both here and in other DSLR forums, they are not the most reliable card, but they can get the job done.

If your only intended use is to use the card with your GateWay - where you are not storing sensitive data - then I don't see an issue using the card. Plus, they've apparently got a three year warranty on flash memory, so if it were to crap out on you, you could always send it in for repair (depending on if shipping cost or not, plus time until they send a new one, almost never worth it).

As many have realized by now, although SanDisk is more expensive, you pay for what you get. Not every microSD card is the same.

As for compatibility, one user here reported an issue with his class 10 card, but turns out they just needed to use SD Formatter and the card worked fine.

Check out RedFlagDeals every so often as you might find a killer deal on a card, or just about anything else (Apparently Staples or Target was clearing out 3DS XLs for $100).

Best of luck!
