I have never owned or had to work with a micro SD. what things will I need to make my dstwo plus work? If someone could tell me what else I need to buy it would be greatly appreciated

Lemme see, the DSTWO should need the following: a microSD (any size should do as long as your games fit in it and it's formatted in FAT32) the EOS, the firmware, and games.
For microSD's, get some reputable ones like Kingston or SanDisk.
For the EOS and firmware, get it here.
For the games, you'll have to find that on your own.
You can also get CATSFC and TempGBA as replacements for the built-in emulators.
