I have a save file that loads up without issue using Gateway and a 3DZ ROM.

However, there doesn't seem to exist a save file for this particular game on my SD card. I would know; I deleted every .sav and tested. So, my question is: Where on earth does Pokemon ORAS save my game???

Yep. It's a CARD2 game, which has an alternate way of saving. To 'emulate' this, Gateway lets the game save in the ROM file itself. This means that you cannot trim your ROM unless you want a corrupted save file somewhere down the road. It also means that saving is instantaneous. (By which I mean that you don't need to properly close the game for the save to actually be written.)

yeah typo xD
My initial answer is no. A 3DZ has a different header making the save incompatible.
But then I realized that we can extract, decrypt and re-encrypt save files from CARD2 games, I believe. So it might actually be possible? Someone else should be able to clarify this, though. I've never tried it.

Nurio, how does one edit their ORAS save file using PKHex if the save file's merged with the ROM itself?
