I need one for my n3ds xl cause I'm running out of space with my 16gb micro sd and I'm on a budget

Why? I've been rocking 128 gig for about a year now and it runs just like my other system that has an 8 gig card.

I think 128 GB is way more than you could need. 64 GB should be plenty.

Most games are around 1 GB, so if you plan on downloading a lot of games, it can't hurt.

Even if it were, 42 USD for 128 gig microSD is still cheap as hell. Not saying that it's necessarily a small amount of money, but if you think 42 USD is expensive for a 128 gig mSD then you have severely underestimated the cost =/

Well it's just that I'm trying to spend no more 20 to 25 bucks

The cheapest "legit" 128gb card you will find is this Pny card for 35$.
Don't even bother buying cards on eBay.
