I've never jailbroke my ps4 before, so I wanted to see if there was a way to do so before going through with the next update (If my ps4's firmware is too high, it's whatever). After some quick searching, I saw several websites claiming to have some files for version 8.03. When I downloaded them, the .PUP file was password protected until I completed a survey for them. What's up with that?

Definitely a scam to either get you to sit through ads to generate them revenue, or get you to download a virus. This used to be super common back in the early 3DS CFW days, too. Never trust those things.
They get paid for you competing the survey, they know you will be desperate to do it because nobody else has a jailbreak.
However if you complete the survey then you don't get a jailbreak, if you did then it would quickly be hosted everywhere without having to complete a survey. They would know this would and wouldn't even bother if the jailbreak was real as only one person would answer the survey.

Any site that hides "jailbreaks" behind surveys is fake.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt. -

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore. -
