I agree anything is possible. It took about 20 years to crack the sega saturn open and look at all the recent discoveries with xbox 360 lately. It may take a while but something will happen.
That's the thing, 20 years. The Xbox 360's successor's successor is already out, so Microsoft probably isn't that interested in it anymore. The Switch 2 might be hacked some day, in fact it should be for several reasons. But nothing should be expected anytime soon.

Nice, I have tried to find it online, but none. I think they can hold on anything in their cache for 1 more year. We need more game on the platform. The scene will find something, I hope not in 20 years, lol.
I’m sure someone smart would but not show it online, just check if whatever they do, keeps working on each new firmware and wait it out till they think this is the firmware they want to release it on. There is also the possibility that each time something gets discovered, they tell Nintendo for that payout thing, if that’s still a thing.

The issue is, no custom firmware dev will touch it. Every single nintendo custom firmware was developed through RE. Its because of this that nintendo hasn't gone after most of them, especially the largest modern cfw, Atmosphere. How do you think nintendo will act if an exploit was based on copyrighted materials? They'd sue them to hell for receiving and using pirated code.
Remember, homebrew relies heavily on cfw, and homebrew devs will not chose to use a dangerous exploits. Just check the recent libogc scandal and the homebrew channel for wii closing down.
And what do you think they'd do with it? create a cfw? something like hekate or Atmosphere? I highly doubt some hacker who's got general modding and homebrew in mind would want to look at this. The community builds up a modding scene, and not some lone hacker.

Theoretically, would someone be able to use the leaked code and reverse engineer something with plausible deniability? Not exactly clean room reverse engineering, but plausibly could be.
Both cases got sued. They were also for-profit products.
This is not the era where hacking was only for those in the know. Any hack that comes out, is gonna make news. Even if they hide it till more firmwares are released with the exploit, when they release it, its gonna be over. If it turns out to have copyrighted code, devkitpro and HBL will choose not to have anything to do with it.

As soon as it can be proven that knowledge from the leaks was involved in it, plausible deniability gets thrown out. To get an exploit, you aren't going to reverse engineer to find it. You would be discovering. With how reverse engineering works for normal systems. you RE an implementation thats already public in order to produce a similar system that processes data. Thats why emulators work on RE. You can get the system binaries, decompile and annotate functions in order to understand how they work, and then recreate it. Or you can run multiple test codes, record their result and analyze it to create a similar system. This all relies on having access to the data you want to process.
Exploits aren't so. You are searching for a key someone forgot to hide to their home. And you do so by searching everywhere around the house and places the person has been. If you already know someone with the key, and you ask them to dupe it for you, you aren't RE, are you?
SXOS got sued, but they gave us years of switch piracy before they went down. Once they did atmosphere was ready to fill the gap. I don't mind at all another solution like that filling the gap for a couple of years until a more long term mod emerges. People that got the SXOS early more than got their money's worth before they kicked the dust.
How exactly would someone know if an exploit was discovered via RE or via investigating leaked code? I think we're confusing re-implementation of software (AMS and Emulators) which is legal vs directly copying code from a leaked source.

HomeOwner's Association. That means you have the DNA [source code] of everyone in your HOA, which you could theoretically use to make clones and replace them to take over the HOA and shut it down from the inside.
I'd highly wager that anything you could do with this will be for the Switch 1. I seen the files, they're dated 2018, long before S2 could have been in active development and would be in pre-production at most (as in they would have been prototyping the physical consoles).
You also have to remember that 2018's FW 5.0.0 at least is significantly less patched and has way more possible exploits than the FW 20.0.0 that was available by the time of the Switch 2 reveal, so anything you could find would have a very good chance of just not working on post 6.0.0 Firmware and would be useless for Switch 2 entirely because any exploit that can come from it, ethier it won't work for Switch 1s running firmwares past 6.0.0 and onward having an exponentially higher chance of it being patched long before the exploit was discovered, and won't do much because of the Switch 2's significantly stronger security systems shutting it down before you can get anything off the ground if it just didn't do anything in the first place.
It's a proof of concept that won't do much because again, No way to exploit Switch 2 + no way to dump games = No EMU Progress besides trying to copy what it normally does.
