There has yet to be a single valid report of this. Though from what I can tell they really only mark them if multiple copies of the same cart UUID are being run at the same time.

Pretty curious that this dude had basically no views until he begun clickbaiting hard with the Switch 2 "hacked" vids. I suppose this is the kind of userbase he wants.

Always follow MrMario2011, MVG and MODDED WARFARE for these kind of things. I find them highly reliable than some random user milking the current trend.

No one is talking about this but could it be the day 1 patch that was required to install to enable SD card is an anti-piracy measurement? Think about this...

Imagine one year from now, or more, an exploit is found on the OFW that came with the first batch of consoles. People run to buy one that is still in the stores without lasted OFW... But if the exploit can't be installed without the SD you are out of luck, because the console will require to install an OFW update to use SD, and Nintendo will only provide the latest patch.

So, essentially, any unboxed Switch 2 will be as if they always have the latest OFW. That also happens for people who bought 2 consoles keeping one boxed. This will only work if they open the second console just to install the first patch to unlock the SD. And the same if the exploit use Switch 1 cartridges. It doesn't work on Switch 2 without installed the OFW update.

I must admit this move is brilliant.

Keep in mind that the real discussions between hackers don't happen on GBAtemp, they have their own places. Likely in private too, so Nintendo doesn't watch.

While on the topic of mods, did any people already try to do aesthetic/functional Hardware mods on the Switch 2?
These would include getting 3rd party hardware working on it, additional ports (f.ex 3rd USB-C port), fancy cases & LEDS, cooling ...

The only reason the OG Switch was exploited was a hardware bug. Horizon OS remains unexploited to this day.

I agree anything is possible. It took about 20 years to crack the sega saturn open and look at all the recent discoveries with xbox 360 lately. It may take a while but something will happen.

Hi! What is the switch 2 modding status currently? Have we got anywhere closer to running custom firmware yet outside of the custom graphic like 2 months ago? I swear we need the encryption keys which so bad! Is no one even trying to mod the switch 2 anymore?

id give up if u want a modded switch stay with your og or oled models
