The first conole i ever modded was the Wii
Because its too easy to hack, and Its my first ORIGINAL Home Gaming Console.
I played the modded NES that has a design of a Keyboard, Which is probably made in China

I guess it would be the DS since I installed flash-me onto it. I dont really think of chucking in a flash cartridge as "modding."
Id have to agree ;/

In that case the Wii is the first mod for me, even if its only a softmod

So, sticking a cart in ISN'T modding, but sticking an SD card in IS?
I did it before there was the easy way of softmodding with 1 SD card... had to swap files etc

But yea its modding since you actually have to do stuff and it takes more then 10seconds

Yay Me too. I didn't actually mod it, my uncle did but i hung around while he soldered the chip.

then came ds, psp, wii, xbox 1 + 360 and soon to be ps3. i've done about a dozen wii's and about 3-4 xboxs. i look to mod any system i get, its worth it, not even for piracy. i just like to run things that shouldn't be running on them.

Playstation modded for region free capability well I actually bought it at an independent game shop in San Fransisco. It was well worth it though.

I'm not really into modding. I fixed my Gamecube LED once, turned out it was a blue one and even cooler!

e; Oh, and a ps2 modchip. Does that count?

The PSX was my first modded console, but I don't know who modded it because I was so little when I got it. (might not even have been born

)
The DS I got a flashcard for, but that's not really modding.
So the ACTUAL first thing I modded was a Wii.

I've never actually had a 'modded' console but the first copied games I had were for the C16, the first console I played copied games on was the PS1 with the disc-swap technique and the first dedicated piracy hardware I owned was a F2AUltra for the GBA.

Hardware mod would probably be an Atari 2600 controller about 10-15 odd years ago. I had a hankering to play the 2600 again, but the controllers were broken. Took one apart and found out it was just not making proper contacts. So I took the buttons from a broken SNES controller and glued them on to the button contacts. Viola, instant ghetto 2600 controller, lol.

Now of course, I just use Wii2600.

You legend! I haven't met too many people who owned a C16, used to have one myself. It wasn't as good as the 64 but still not a bad little machine. The Basic that it came with was decent compared to the 64.

On-topic :

First console I ever modded was the Japanese Megadrive I had. I opened it up to remove the "safety tabs" so I could play UK/US carts on it as well. I'm crap with electronics tho so all my other mods (50/60hz and Region switches on the MD, Modchips in the PSX/Saturn etc) were done by mates. I don't really consider backup devices like the Magicom or flashcarts to be authentic mods as you're not actually modifying anything, you're just basically sticking a cartridge in.

It was a C64 for people who lived on council estates and almost every single game was a shameless rip off. They had Boulderdash, we had Rockman. They had Centipede, we had Spectipede. They had 1942, we had Reach For The Sky. They had Space Invaders, we had Invaders. The list goes on. And on.

My C16 went to dust years and years ago but thanks to emulation it lives on in spirit.
